Customer Questions & Answers

Is satin lower in gloss that the low-gloss version of the same product?

Trying to decide between satin, low-gloss and gloss for my aged/faded stamped concrete patio.
Asked by: Sunny
Bought the satin and the little that hasn't peeled off is a funny kind of glossy

can I/should I use this after painting my concrete floors with latex porch paint?)

I painted my concrete floor (in bedroom) with Valspar Latex porch & floor paint. It says it is resistant to scratching but I would like added protection since I have a dog. Would your SATIN CLEAR SEAL CONCRETE PROTECTIVE SEALER be a good product for this? I noticed most people had a good experience with it but one person mentioned clear coat turning yellow. I have spent quite a lot of time doing design on floor and do not want to risk ruining it so I wanted to ask first.
Asked by: joanne
I did it on stain. In first rain it peeled up and discolored stain. Flaked off spots have no gloss so quite noticable. Spot check if you still want to try it.

Will this product cloud/look milky if moisure seems through concrete after a rain?

We recently stained using Behr Decorative Concrete Dye and sealed with Behr wet-look sealer. It's milky looking.
Asked by: Mandy
Says it dries clear, it is milky in can. I think it discolored my stain some and has an unnatural glossy look to it so where it peels off is not glossy and even more obvious

Will this sealer work well on slate tile bathroom floor; wife wants wet look.

Dont want to mess up my tile job. The slate has some great colors in it, want to bring those out and maintain a semi-wet look.
Asked by: Wolfie14
The satin gives gloss but mine peeled off at the first rain. I did put it over stained concrete.

1 gal. Satin Clear Seal Concrete Protective Sealer is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great value for the price! My husband and I did an Ardex Feather Finish concrete overlay to our counters about a month ago, and we used this to seal it. 3 coats later and it has held up fairly well. It's excellent at protecting against water! Scratches show up fairly easy from everyday use and oil stains don't come out, if left on the surface for longer than a minute or so, but over all, it worked for us. Especially price-wise!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for a garage floor Wanted a simple clear finish for our garage floor. Prepped the entire floor using a concrete grinder, and applied 3 coats of sealer. We let it cure for 3 days before parking on it. On the plus side, there have been no issues with peeling or clouding. However, there's been one very big negative. Every time we pull into the garage, the tires leave a burn mark on the floor, in the pattern of the tread.

The application of the paint was easy and went a lot farther than expected. Part of the coverage was due to the floor having been painted before with a colorant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seal Krete Concrete Sealer Amazing product! I did my research as a former painter, cabinetry finisher, working with water borne stains to enamels and varnishes. I searched far and wide. There are a lot of expensive products out there. I had a garage fire, my concrete was pitted terribly. A lot of work but saved thousands. Prepped and patched the concrete. Used a primer, painted and added the flecks. Wanted a satin clear seal finish. Do not be deceived by this products minimal price. I bought 3 gal., used 1.5, goes on like water. Cut in and back rolled. People cannot believe the transformation. I've driven on the floor now, 2 months. No yellowing. I was excited to find and use the product. The only draw back, I had to buy it online. The stores are filled with high priced products. Forget them, this is a wonderful product. Have already recommended to many. Very happy customer. Pam, Mn
