Answer:
I think it would be a good undercoat for a new wall before painting. I would keep the moisture away from the fresh paint allowing it to dry properly with less chance of staining the paint.

Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for your question!
You wouldn't want to apply this product before you paint, however, you can apply it over paint. Since this is a waterproofer, painting over it may be difficult since it will repel the paint.
Have a great day!
Christine

Can this be used to seal masonry for beadboard application?

This question is from 5 gal. Original Waterproofing Sealer

I'm installing beadboard in my kitchen to replace old tile that's been removed, and the manufacturer says to not install directly onto masonry due to mold/moisture concerns. Would this be a suitable sealant for the masonry to prevent moisture issues with the beadboard? And would paneling adhesive adhere to this product once dried?

Answer:
Although I have not used it for this application, this is a waterproofing sealer and i have applied it to my pool deck with wonderful results. But I am not sure how well this product would be with the panel adhesive. Depending on the adhesive chemical content, it might affect the ability of the sealer to keep moisture out.

Answer:
Original can be used and the adhesive will bond. However, Original is a breathable film and moisture that exceeds 3.1 psi within a 24 hr. period would go through it. It is a waterproofer in the sense that it stops wind and driven rain . Because it is breathable, constant pressure would get through. If this is a concern, we would not recommend using it. Thank you!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by seal everything Easy spray on with pump up garden sprayer, use disposal paint filter move anything you do not want sprayed. Spray multipule layers and preserve your ezpensive wood.tile and concrete. July 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Expected a somewhat more viscous product, this was like applying water. water cleanup made that easy, but the jury is still out on how well this works as a sealer. Due to the water-like consistency, I have my doubts as to the efficacy of this product as a waterproofing product. June 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never use on Concrete driveway Period A reviewer earlier showed a driveway with tire marks on it after 1 week and it looks exactly like mine. Spent $130.00 plus 6 hours applying 2 applications of sealer only to have to strip it all back off which will not be free or easy May 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy I purchased this sealer for our apparatus floor at our ambulance station. The sealer applied easy, dried quickly and evenly and looked great until it got wet. The sealer was applied on Monday and when we washed vehicles on Friday of the same week, the sealer washed off. It looked as if someone had dumped gallons of milk on the floor with the sealer coming off the floor. The sealer was applied to a floor that was 15 years old and never had sealer applied to it previously. The floor was professionally scrubbed and vacuumed with a zamboni looking machine prior to application. I will be looking for a different product as this was a waste of money. May 9, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not 100% waterproof!!! I ordered 2 of these for my concrete driveway and outside patio tiles. The application way easy with a sprayer. Don't waste your money on this buy more expensive weatherproofing sealer. Also, I've sprayed on the tile and after it dried completely, I sprayed water and it started to get milky like as if its starting to absorb the water! Thin file is on the tile and I removed it because it was slippery when wet. Maybe this sealer is better mixing with paint on vertical application instead of flat horizontal floor. The Eagle brand is better for concrete floor. I'm glad HomeDepot refunded the full amount. Thanks. August 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very good product I've used this product to seal my dock (every other year) and paver patio/walkway (every three years)for years. The wood and stone still look like new, and that's something to brag about considering the salt air and strong sun of Florida. September 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Did as advertised I looked at other reviews of products to seal concrete pool pavers and joint sand and saw goo ratings. The last time I tried to have my pool pavers sealed it was a mess as the contractor tried to apply something with a roller. This time I did it myself. This stuff is great. I used a 3 gallon Echo hand sprayer and applied two even coats on the pavers after pressure washing the pavers. I resanded the gaps with fine sand, broomed the surface so the sand was only in the joints and applied the product. It looked milky going going on, but dried clear and set the loose sand so it is hard and permanent. I would recommend this to anyone needing to seal concrete pavers. August 2, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good and Average After all the negatives cast on Thompson's because it was milky white, I went with the special order Original Waterproofing Sealer. Well, it, too, is milky white. Although it dries clear, the liquid frequently clogged the filter on my sprayer, This resulted in occasional heavy, uneven and blotchy application. My 60-foot driveway absorbed the entire 5 gallons with a single coat. Overall, I feel the product did an average job, but not necessarily better than similar products. June 2, 2015
