Model 95200 seal-krete epoxy flakes

I would like to know the process on how to appy these flakes, 1. are they applied to the painted surface when is still wet 2.if they are sprinkled on th wet surface, will the tend to stick together. 3. after the flakes are applied, what type of fibish goes on top. Would like to have a detailed explanation Can they be appied to a painted surface
Asked by: Walterin
The flakes are applied after the concrete paint, before the clear seal doing small sections at a time. Visit the Seal-krete website: www.seal-krete.com for detailed instructions on how to apply the products and for detailed technical data sheets that give very complete instructions on how many coats to use, drying and curing time, etc. The products went a lot farther than I thought they would and I over ordered. But, Home Depot gave me refunds for all unopened products. The abbreviated process is: etch and clean the concrete really well; apply lock down primer, use the concrete paint to give the floor color, but only do small sections at a time immediately followed by throwing the flakes while the paint is wet; allow to dry; then use the clear seal; allow to dry and cure. The flakes will stick together if you throw them in clumps. We used Clear-Seal (2 coats) for the finish.

can this be used on counter tops?

I'm going to use Grip and Seal paint on my counter top, can thid be used with is and would it be a ruff finish, I am also going to use final finish of the 2 part epoxy EnviroTex
Asked by: MagicalBob
We used the chips to help keep the concrete floor from being slippery. With 2 coats of clear-seal, it is still rough. I wouldn't want my counters finished this way.

Customer Reviews

Epoxy Flakes (Gray/White/Black) 1 lb. is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and great system Use these chips along with the complete Seal-Krete system including the concrete etcher, primer, paint, and clear seal. Visit the Seal-krete website: www.seal-krete.com for detailed instructions on how to apply the products and for detailed technical data. The products went a lot farther than I thought they would and I over ordered. But, Home Depot gave me refunds for all unopened products. We did a very large area and were not interested in the smaller epoxy kits. It's a little tricky getting the hang of throwing the chips in the air. You can try throwing them in the air before applying any product to see your results. We wish we had used more, but were afraid we would run out. They really go farther than you might think.
