Customer Questions & Answers

Will it work on verticlal surfaces?

I know it says horizontal surfaces, but I'm looking to also coat a 3 foot vertical surface. Is there a way to carefully do it with minimal rippling?
Asked by: Nate
To be clear, I am hoping to apply it to fish culture purposes. So appearance isn't as important as functionality. I'm looking for something that is both waterproof and non-toxic to our fish, and so far this epoxy seems to fit the bill minus the vertical surfaces. Given that appearance is not of great concern, would you still not recommend this product?

What is the clean up proceeedure for this paint?

Asked by: Mustang
Dear Mustang, In addition to Chris' recommendations, SEAL-KRETE also states the following: Wait 30 days before rinsing or cleaning surface. To avoid premature paint failure, do not use abrasive cleaners or pressure-washer on surface. Thank you!

After 4-5 days pulled a vehicle onto the floor which had snow on the vehicle the next day the water that dripped off the vehicle caused the paint to peal up off the floor. Very disappointed with product and would not recommend it.

I was expecting more than I got. No better than latex paint in my opinion. Started peeling off a well prepared substrate within a few days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome floor paint 5 gallon container of grey floor paint product #922. Product was used on a unfinished smooth finished basement floor. Concrete was cleaned (swept-vacuumed) and then sealed with recommended primer "Seal-Krete Lock-down Epoxy", allowed to dry 48 hours. I used a 18" 3/8" nap roller applicator with handle attachment for the first roll out. I used a 12" 3/8" nap roller applicator for the second coating. 5 gallons covered 2,450 square feet of floor for the two coatings. **I suggest that when applying the paint, you roll it out in a thin coating. Don't try to cover the floor in one application with a thicker coat** Proper application is where you will see some of the concrete floor in the first application showing through the paint. If you apply it thicker, it has a tendency to not adhere to the concrete properly and will lift or peel in spots. On the second coating, you will cover all the thin areas from the first coating and have a professional looking paint job. I was surprised that 5 gallons covered two coatings of 2,450 sq feet. Have the store shake the paint for you instead of stirring it yourself. Excellent product !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the price. Great product I've used for many years with success. I only wish it was a bit harder such that it didn't display tire marks so prevalently. Considering the price and the ability to cover well, it's still a great bargain when compared to the super-expensive 2-part alternatives.
