How do you plug in the electric cord on the usb drive if it is in the safe? Is there an electrical connection included as well as the usb connection?

Answer: 
There is not an electrical connection. The hard drive is stored inside the safe and connect to the USB. You can use the external port to take information from the hard drive onto a smaller drive.
