Answer:
Im pretty sure that the first dimensions is the internal size of the unit while the second set of dimensions is the external dimensions for the unit... I am not 100% sure but I think that would only make sense.

Neither of the dimension sets match the dimensions listed on Sentry's website. I have no clue what these dimension mean, as there is no "assembly" required, so why list "assembled dimensions". Go to Sentry Safe's website and do a search on the Model Number EF4738E to view the manufacturer's specifications, including dimensions and fire ratings. They are different than those Home Depot is showing. Read More

Answer:
The safe is designed to be bolted to the floor only to ensure the water resistant properties. It cannot be bolted through the back. It will no longer be fire proof and you will void any and all warranties by doing so.

Answer:
Hello matthew,
The safe only has bolt access through the floor of the safe. If installing into a slab make sure to use bolts in conjunction with concrete anchors to secure the safe. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

The safe is sturdy and heavy enough to make it very difficult to carry off (especially since I mounted it to the floor). The shelves are carpeted steel but the shelf pins to hold them are plastic and fall out pretty easily. I think the pins would melt and give way if the safe got hot in a fire. The key pad for the combination looks/feels cheap and a couple of times I had to enter the code twice because I could hear the lock mechanism click (which indicates it is unlocked) but the handle to open it, would not turn. The fact that there's a key to open it, if the key pad malfunctions or is destroyed in a fire, gives me peace of mind that I will be able to get into the safe if needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy, Good size This is a good sized safe - not too big, not too small. Heavy enough that it would take several people to move it. I like how the shelves can be removed for bigger items, if needed. Extremely easy to set up with battery (for the electronic keypad) and with personal pass code. My only complaint is that when I first received it, I couldn't get the door to close completely so that I could lock it. I finally figured out that the padding/seal around the door was too thick. I cut it down a bit, and the door closed/locked perfectly. Doing that probably made it so that it's not waterproof anymore, though. Since being waterproof was only a secondary concern for me, it's not a big issue. But it may be for others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 stars !! Great safe .. Not too big, not too small .. Heavy enough too prevent theft (requires @ least 2-3 persons to move) .. Battery electric key pad with emergency skeleton keys is a big plus .. Fair price with an expense look .. Plenty of storage with carpeting panels .. Heavy duty locking bolts .. Option to attach/drill to floor .. Insurance companies offer discounts (like with alarm systems) .. Water & fire protection was the final convincing factor for me!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home safe This safe was delivered on time and the driver was a big help in the delivery process. Safe is easy to use. It comes with 2 keys and setting your own combination was a snap. It does not overwhelm the room I put it in and Could be covered easily. This safe was purchased because we out grew our smaller one. The price was better than all others I researched. Great safe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No complaints. I purchased the safe and read some of the reviews. There were complaints about the safe's door either to difficult to open or to close. I had none of those. The safe is a great product. Solid construction. I am very satisfied. I mounted the safe through the floor and I think the location of holes to drill through should be better explained. They are so well hidden that I found them by accident. A very minor problem. I endorse this product any time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Enough for My Needs I have this safe for about a week and so far so good. (i'll update my post in a few months so you know if i still feel that way). I was really tempted to go with a higher end safe after watching the you tube video's on how quickly this one could be broken into. It all comes down to your needs and budget. For me this one does the trick. Good size, good weight, solid construction that allows me to have peace of mind that my papers, coins, and some personal items are safely out of the hands of kids, housekeepers, etc. The electronic keypad works fine but the quality could be a bit better. the skeleton key works good as well (slide off the keypad, gently pull out the battery casing to reveal a hole for the key). Overall it seems to be a good product. If you want something top notch you'll need to double what you're looking to spend here.
