I purchased the safe for about a year ago or so... and for a while it works fine. But all of a sudden I noticed that the handle bar begins to give, loose and sag... It was still doing its purpose and still opens the safe door, so I was somewhat not that concern... exept that the safe handle is loose and gives the appearance of something cheap and not well made. Anyway, after a few months from that the electronic lock all of a sudden fails to lock/work. The key lock still works, so basically to open the safe all you need is the key... which is not good if your keeping a hand gun as kids can easily open the safe... This tells me that the safe is not at all well made and its design to fail ones the warranty expires... That's even if you take very good care of it as I did... So I don't really recommend this brand of safe to anyone... except if you only need it for a few months... then again disposing it is such a hassle too.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Robert Garbage. Plastic Gears. Broke day one.
Got it home, down the stairs, out of the box. Instructions don't inform to explicitly remove the key before turning handle to open. Though maybe it needed some oomph....bad idea. Interior plastic gears stripped. Very poor design. It's going back.

I needed a safe place to keep my personal info that is stored on digital media, CDs, DVDs, and thumb drives. Its big enough to store my digital media, laptops, tablets and cameras. The hanging files keep me organized and the safe keeps my memories protected. Exactly what I was looking for.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Voltaire Wouldn't open at all
I bought this at Home Depot on sale, loaded it on my truck and took it home. Before taking it off the truck I decided to open it and make sure the shelves and such were in it. The safe would not open even with the key. The handle turned almost all the way around so the gears must have stripped. Took it back and got a refund.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Zack Worst purchase ever
I just purchased this product 2 days ago. After loading all the files from my old safe and the items that wouldn't fit in the smaller one and opening and closing it six times it failed with a "communication" error according to Sentry.
I called their customer service, which was helpful, but left me having to get three locksmiths to give me estimates to open it. Many I've called gave me random, non-specific quotes that won't work (like we'll come out for 25 dollars and then tell you how much).
The interior components for the lock, which they had me pop open to trouble shoot are weak plastic and the board for the electronic lock is a very old model. All of the locking components in that area are just cheap plastic, the wiring for the lock is thinner and weaker than a speaker.
If you need to put anything in this that a) requires any security or b) may need to be accessed in a week or less, buy something else. The quality does not equal the price.

Handle was not well made, and spins around now and doesn't really grip the gearing to open the safe door. I'm pulling out all my stuff and buying a new safe. This safe is a turkey

Junk, junk, junk. After a few months, actuator to open the door would not work. Called Sentry, and was told to beat on the door with a rubber mallet to get actuator working again. Got it open , now afraid to close it for fear it will completely break. Inside the door are a bunch of plastic gears and cheap metal components.
