Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Spud easy to open with a pry bar
This is a followup to a review I wrote in Sept. Our house was burglarized and this safe was popped open quickly using a cheap pry bar from our garage. Use these inexpensive safes as decoys only, keep your valuables somewhere less obvious or buy a real safe, you get what you pay for. Ours was hidden in a basement cabinet behind several boxes.

The safe has both a combination and a keyed entry. We figured out how to set it up very easily. It can also be anchored down. Perfect size - not too big or too small. Keyhole can be hidden from view.

The SentrySafe X125, 1.2 cubic feet safe has the following dimensions: Exterior: 16.9" W, 10.6" H, 14.6" D; Interior: 16.8" W, 10.5" H, 11.6" D. It comes with a removable, painted metal shelf that sits across two mounts spot-welded to the side walls mid-height. It’s not adjustable, though one could jury-rig a fix to that easily enough. The 1 cubic foot X105 model has the same footprint as the X125, but is a bit shorter (8.9” high exterior, 8.7” high interior) and doesn’t come with a shelf. Depending on your height and shelf needs, it may or may not be a better option. The packaging is good - heavy cardboard box with the safe well protected by Styrofoam strips. It arrived via UPS in 3 days in perfect condition. Be aware that this is NOT a fire safe. The walls are a single sheet of painted steel, similar to hotel safes, but of a heavier gauge steel than most. They are quite sturdy and it is fairly well made. It is designed with a double bolt locking mechanism with low profile locking knob and the hinges inside, minimizing pry points. The digital lock requires 4 AA batteries which are not included. The combination reset button is inside the covered battery compartment inside the safe (protected from attacks by a rod introduced through a cable hole if you leave one accessible (search “cracking safes” on YouTube to see what I’m talking about). There is an override key. The keyhole is made inconspicuous by a plastic cover.
Given that this is a smallish safe, it needs to be securely mounted so a thief can’t simply pick it up and walk out with it to crack at their leisure. A corner floor mount will be the most secure in that it provides up to 3 surfaces to bolt to and minimizes free areas for grabbing. (A shelf mount, while easier to access, provides a lot of area to push and pull at when trying to yank it off the wall.) As standard 2x4 wall studs are 16” apart (in theory, not necessarily practice), you may need to install a backing plate (e.g. 5/8” plywood) and mount to that. This can end up being a multi-hour project over a couple days if materials are not on hand, painting is involved and baseboard trim needs to be removed and resized. Realize that the goal in mounting is to make removal difficult and time-consuming for the casual burglar (too much of a hassle), but that this type of safe isn’t going to stop a determined thief with the right tools. As other reviewers have noted, the mounting hardware that ships with the safe is insubstantial – two thin lag bolts (the equivalent of #14 x 2 ½” screws) with plastic drywall anchors (I don’t know what they were thinking when they shipped the drywall anchors). They’re designed to go through two holes set horizontally in the middle of the back wall of the safe. I ended up drilling 5/16” holes set 1 1/2” inside each corner of the mounting sides and buying some heftier lag bolts with washers. This was easy enough and the design of the safe makes this possible so I don’t consider it much of a drawback.
Overall, I’m very happy with this safe. It is exactly as advertized and seems a good value for the money / competition. I’d buy it again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Eddieboy Meets my need to a T
I bought this to protect our valuables while traveling. Especially when a hotel/motel doesn't have a safe in the room. This safe provides the security we need. A great addition to our traveling gear.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JASinger Great small safe
I bought this safe online from Homedepot.com. I am very pleased with the interior size and the locking mechanism as I was looking for a safe that had both a digital lock and an override key. It shipped well and is relatively easy to install. One thing to note that isn't on the directions is that if you are going to install it in foundation, be sure to use a hammer drill.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Harryco Excellent value
I bought this to replace a smaller safe in my motor Home, as it will take a laptop computer and still have room for cameras and other valuables.
Fits under the seat, and easily bolts through the floor.
We can now relax when leaving our valuables.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SafetyFirst Happy to have it
My only complaint is that the handle is a bit small and hard for my old hands to grasp to open. Otherwise, we are happy to have a second safe in our home, near the bedroom, so we can keep things close by.
