Customer Questions & Answers

Is this canopy appropriate for the beach and if so do I need weight bags to anchor it down?

Asked by: MissStuff
if you're using this canopy on the beach, a great idea would be to use the sand on the beach to fill four bags and use them as weights. This way you don't have to buy weights or carry them around. At home I use four cinder blocks to keep my canopy in place

What else is needed to install on a concrete roof?

I am looking to use this on my roof for a bridal shower. Does it come with everything needed to install on concrete or will I need additional items to secure it down?
Asked by: BKush
I recommend using a set of 4 concrete weights to keep it from flying away should the wind get underneath it is all. It's large, so you should have a large space for set up. It's very nice and sturdy and should meet your needs.

ST100 10 ft. x 10 ft. Instant Patio Canopy in Red is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 186.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Give this a pass I bought this canopy after reading reviews to replace a canopy that I have used for 10 years. Obviously the canopy I had was pretty good to have lasted this long. First, read this was easy to put up and one person put it up by herself. Not possible. It was comparable to other canopies in this regard. But the cover itself is what I have issues with. The cover is extremely thin and while it does have velcro to attach at the corners, there is no velcro to attach the cover to the sides of the canopy. Because it is extremely thin, it can and does flap in the breeze. I had to use electrical tape to tape it to the sides. You can do better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from There are some reviewer misconceptions about this product... Most reviewers here are NOT using this product correctly. It is a temporary sun shade. It doesn't state that it is water proof in the description or in the instructions. Second, it is an "easy up" expandable style. It is meant to be put up and taken down when done. It is NOT designed to be left up in wind and rain. NOTE THE NAME "SHADE TECH" Think of it as a four legged sun umbrella, NOT a tent or gazebo. I have two of these, one green one bought inline and one khaki one bought in-store. They have held up well and are perfect for keeping the sun off and repelling the occasional shower. WE DO NOT leave them up in heavy rain. WE DO NOT leave them up 24/7.

Had set it up for an upcoming get together this weekend and we had a rain storm here in Florida. Water accumulated on canopy (which also ripped) which led to bending the frame in several locations before it came crashing down. Figured I would at least get a year of use. Very disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great easy to set up canopy We do not need a high priced canopy because we will use it only on occasion, however, I found this one easy to put up and take down. It does not have any tie downs or weights so if we use it in the wind we will need them. I have a friend with a Coleman canopy and the only difference I see is that his canopy top is of better quality but it cost a lot more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Canvas is too thin After just a couple rains I ended up having to duck tape everyplace that the structure touched the canopy. All you have to do is barely touch it and it rips. From now on I'll go with Ozark. It's a thick canvas end it is reinforced everywhere that the structure touches it. Do not buy shade tech

Since it's put together by rivets instead of bolts at those joints, it'll be very difficult to repair. I will probably just bring it back to Home Depot. Don't buy this tent. It is really just cheap junk!!!

If you're looking for commercial grade, this is not the one - fabric is very light-weight and I don't expect it will hold up over time. However, it's perfect for casual use. I'm pleased with the canopy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of $100 As with any review, I believe each situation has its unique characteristics that can make it valuable to the next consumer, here are my two cents. Purchased online 07/02/16, delivered promptly. Setup was easy, completed in under 10 minutes by myself. End of life for this product came when the canopy ripped during a light wind/rain storm that came through San Diego.... you know, land of sunshine. I have purchased several canopies throughout my life for a variety of uses, this one was setup primarily to cover my truck which doesn't currently fit in my garage and was a replacement for a similar product purchased from Harbor Freight. Honestly I expect much better quality products from Home Depot, this was a sad disappointment. As mentioned, this replaced another canopy that was in the same location doing the exact same thing. To only last through some typical days in San Diego is a shame. The canopy is super thin which with a bit of exposure became frail, brittle, and easier to tear than paper. I won't buy this brand again. At this price I could buy 2 from the cheap store and get through 4x the duration before they rip or tear from the elements.
