Works like a champ. Powerful, easy to get around. Attachments super easy to use (never had that before). Light enough to vacuum the steps. Tough enough to clean up after my 3 & 5 yo boys. Researched thoroughly at the time and couldn't be more pleased.
Anyone who says the hose doesn't reach to the ceiling doesn't realize there are 2 detach points on the hose, and on of them is plenty long for my 9 ft ceilings.
NOTE: If it starts to make a high hiss like air is escaping and isn't picking up very well, you need to empty the canister (easy to do after first couple times). If it still does it, that means you need to clean the filters. Very easy, just need to be able to let them dry overnight.
I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JohnH Excellent Value, Suction, Size and overall Design.
I was long past due for a new vacuum cleaner and wasted too much time reading online reviews and researching vacuums. Based on my research Shark is tied for second place rating below only a German company whose entry level vacuum sells for over $600.
I was impressed with the compact design in the store as well as the fact it wasn't cumbersome with non-essential features and attachments. While I knew Shark vacuum's were rated the best value and among the best overall, being so lightweight I questioned how much power it would truly have.
Upon assembling the vacuum(2-5 minutes) I vacuumed one small room of low pile carpeting that I had just vacuumed with my previous vacuum cleaner. The amount of dirt lifted was nothing short of frightening. Evidently I'm a pig and nobody knows it, or if they do at least I was the last one to know it.
The vacuum is very easy to use, feels to me to weight about the same as a gallon of milk so very lightweight. It also automatically senses the flooring type and will turn the agitator brush off automatically when transitioning to hard flooring. There is a bypass to turn it back on but for laminate and easily scratched surfaces you need not worry. The sales associate and told me of this feature but I had no confidence it would perform as he explained, I was wrong. When it is pushed from my carpeting onto laminate the agitator brush automatically shuts off and turns back on when pushed back over a carpeted surface.
The only design improvement I could recommend would be a longer hose for the extension wand. It is long enough to reach 8 foot plus ceilings but not much more than that without lifting the vacuum cleaner itself. Not a problem for me but with that simple improvement it would be a flawless vacuum cleaner.
I highly recommend this vacuum and challenge anyone to find a better one in the same price range.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Diana This is one amazing little vacuum!
I purchased this vac for my Dad for Christmas. It is light weight & since he has a small house with both laminate flooring & carpet, I thought this would be good. It is amazing. I vacuumed both surfaces & was surprised at how good it was. Using the carpet setting it is almost self propelled. I then brought it home & revacuumed my floors. Ok, I'm throwing out the dirt devil upright & ordering me one. Thought I should upgrade, but this is so light & does such a good job, staying with this model

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JuniperRanch Great Value and good performance
We have had this vacuum cleaner for over a month now and my wife is quite pleased with it. She reports it is very light weight and easy to use with great suction. We have a dog and the vacuum does a real good job of picking up pet hair in our 2000 square foot home. The only shortcoming she reports is that it requires frequent emptying of the dust collector. This is to be expected in such a small and light weight model.
One feature that I am very pleased with is that it uses very little power compared to our last cleaner. This is important for us, especially, as we live off grid and produce all of our own electrical power via solar panels and wind generation. Energy conservation was a factor in choosing this model. We were concerned that the low wattage might mean less suction power. This has not been the case and must be due to the energy efficiency of this particular model.

I have another Shark product that I love, which prompted me to consider this vacuum cleaner. I wanted something that did a good job while being light enough for me to carry up and down the several stories in my house. I figured the lighter it was the more inclined I'd be to use it. This vacuum is great! Easy to carry and to use, and the first time I vacuumed my (recently) vacuumed living room carpet I was amazed at how much dirt was sucked into the canister. My only "complaint" is the length of the hose.
