Product Overview

The 1/2 in. SharkBite Push-to-Connect Elbow allows you to make a 90 Degree connection to any combination of 1/2 in. Copper, CPVC or PEX Pipe. SharkBite fittings are the easiest way to join pipe and do not require soldering, clamps, unions, glue or tools to complete the job. Just insert the pipe and the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a perfect seal. Disassembly is just as fast using the simple disconnect tool so fittings and valves can be easily changed and reused. They can even be rotated after assembly for easier installation in tight spaces. SharkBite Fittings are certified for potable water supply and hydronic heating applications. Get SharkBite and get a grip on your next plumbing project.

Answer:
Hi, If you need to connect to an existing galvanized pipe, use http://www.homedepot.com/p/1-2-in-Brass-Push-to-Connect-x-Female-Pipe-Thread-90-Degree-Elbow-U308LFA/202270518. Simply thread the female elbow onto the galvanized pipe and then add the PEX to the SharkBite side of the fitting. Thanks for your interest in our products.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect! Works perfect, as advertised. No leaks after installation. A bit expensive, but overall a great savings over getting PEX tools. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I am thrilled with the product I am a diyr who has NEVER attempted to fix a burst pipe. The push to connect products are are miracle products. NO SOLDERING! NO leaks If you're a diy er you need to know that if you measure a pipe diameter and it measures 3/4 inches plumbers go by the interior measurement 1/2 (don't buy a 3/4 fitting. August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best thing since sliced bread... The guy who invented these should be given the Nobel prize in plumbing. These adapters make any plumbing job a DIY job. I had to replace the outside faucet in my house that was all soldered copper connections and these made it a 1 hour replacement job. If I didn't cut my finger on the PEX cutting tool, this job would have been no sweat and no blood. September 2, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor outside freeze performance When used in an outside shower the part fails after first frost the connection rupturing. This has happened two years running. February 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Call a plumber or Sharkbite... A co-worker reviewed photos of the supply line to a a hose bib that needed replacing and suggested Sharkbite products. I decided to put two bibs in place of the one and raise them as the original was only 5 inches from the ground. I built the duplex assembly with copper and sweated the connections. I then cut the supply line, installed a coupler, two elbows and done... oops... not quite yet. The Sharkbite elbow could not support the assembly (it allowed it to rotate), so I attached a board to the house and the assembly to it. Everything is leak free! A plumber would have cost me way over the $50 or so I spent. April 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install I used Sharkbite throughout my house. Its been 3 years now and no issues. July 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Made a difficult project easy! I detected a leaky pipe in wall! The old soldered joint was leaking, into my basement! I closed the main valve, but it was leaking a slight amount of water. I cut the leaking pipe at the joint, and sanded papered it clean. The Shark Bite was the ONLY option! These pipe fittings are one of the greatest inventions of our time! Thank-You Home Depot for making them available, at reasonable cost! March 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by For Pipe Joint in tight area The old soldered joint was leaking in basement, the area is tight for resoldering, quick connect fitting is the only option. make sure you read instruction, and clean the tube before push on June 23, 2015
