May this valve be used with standard cpvc hot water supply piping for a tub to meet local code?

This valve may be used with CPVC. Since plumbing codes vary by location, you should check with your local plumbing code to confirm.

1/2 in. Brass Heat Guard 110-D Thermostatic Mixing Valve is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from saved by sharkbite the inspector came to check the rough in plumbing I did for my new tub. he said 'where is the mixing valve'. I said 'the what?'. he said code requires a mixing valve to limit hot water temp to 120 degrees at the faucet. that apparently has been code since 2009. his interpretation is that it has to be proximate to the location of the faucet - not on the water heater outlet, where a rational person would put it. so I had to squeeze one in under the tub, which was already in place with the surrounding structure firmly in place. sharkbite to the rescue. it was fairly easy to reconfigure the plumbing without needing to sweat new fittings under, and very near, the fiberglass & acrylic whirlpool and associated plastic jet plumbing. I'm very happy these things exist and eliminate the need for bringing in a high priced monetary extraction specialist (plumber)
