I do not use a pump, I use convection (gravity) to move water throughout my Domestic Hot Water Recirculation system. Will that be enough to pass through this valve in the direction it is supposed to flow?

Answer:
The check valve requires 2 PSI to open it, as long as your recirc system is creating 2 PSI that will be enough to pass through the valve. Thank you for your interest in our products!

I am concerned with line loss considering the number of PEX style (internal barb) fittings currently installed in my 1/2" water main service line.

Are there design specifications available regarding friction loss or "line loss"?

Is there a cross section diagram available for this valve?

Regarding line loss, can a comparison be made relative to a PEX style (internal barb) fitting?

That is correct, as long as the inlet pressure is higher than the outlet, the valve will open. The minimum pressure for the valve to open is 2 lbs.

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Literally a 10 minute install job. Did what it was supposed to do. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by completed my hot water recirculation loop I installed a hot water recirculation loop in my house that only uses the inline pump to prime the system with hot water several times a day and then shut off. The pump does not have a check valve; so I added this part to solve the problem of cold water running backward through the loop when the pump is not running and the hot water is running. Problem easily solved. March 23, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for my application This part is perfect for the application in my RV. It installed easily. Great part, great value, great service! July 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super Easy What a wonderful product. I'm sure happy for great minds and the easy technology they come up with. I just cut the PEX water line and slipped the check valve in place. March 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great! Perfect solution for mixing faucet with sprayer (use two, one each on hot and cold) September 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SharkBite and PEX rock. The valve works as advertised. Also, it's a no-lead version, though I don't know where the "leaded" version might have lead. SharkBite fittings cut down 2 hours of work to 30 minutes, including supports. Make sure you cut the PEX squarely for best perfomance with SharkBite fittings. A PEX cutter is a worthwhile investment if you'll be doing a lot of PEX work. Get a disconnect tool, too. If for some reason you ever want to modify the layout, you'll need it to reuse the fittings. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good experience with Shark Bite products In last three years I have installed numerous Shark bite fittings, valves and couplings. No leaks so far.Easy to install but the price could be little bit lower. January 11, 2014
