Not this particular one, no, it is made for all three connections in pex. But in this same series are plenty of adapter fittings that have a push-pex on one end and an MIP or FIP on the other. You just have to know what pipe you are using and how to buy the right fitting for the application, and definitely use teflon tape or a good thread sealant on the iron side.

Drew - SharkBite fittings are rated to 32 Deg F. If using in an area where temperatures will be below that it is recommended that you insulate the pipe and fittings to avoid freezing. Thank you for your interest in our products.

These fittings need their lengths of pex coming into them nice and square, to make them the most leakproof, and the pipes well-supported against normal motions of use and from water-hammer caused by turning mains off and then on again. Aside from the viability of SharkBite fittings themselves (which I and colleagues have enjoyed total success with), the issue of keeping under-house plumbing warm enough is a priority in itself: hot-water pipes tend to freeze more readily than the cold side does, but both ought to be well-wrapped with insulation to protect them from heat and from cold, as well as to keep you from paying extra for hot water that can't stay hot in too cold a space. They are as permanent in my experience as one needs them to be. Plumbers in the pex era have always stressed to me the importance of not burying fittings in walls or floors where they cannot be accessed later any more than necessary, and I find this a good rule. The quick-connect feature does work in reverse, sort of, but these aren't near as easy to remove as one might like, unless there is plenty of space for your hands and for your body to be in a good position to apply leverage. In crawlspaces and other tight spots, I wouldn't advise planning on removing these later, but the ones I know about have held up fine if the pipe is supported properly and the pipe/fitting junction is on a good square axis. Otherwise they will leak, even immediately, and removing them to adjust them can be a tedious process in a tight spot. Read Less

Hi Bob,
SharkBite fittings are a permanent solution. They can be used behind the wall without access panels. The item you see for $86 is a 10 pack of the individual fittings.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect! Works perfect, as advertised. No leaks after installation. A bit expensive, but overall a great savings over getting PEX tools. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by They work great, but pricey These work great, they make a sealed tight connection and have some flex also. They are s bear to take off (with the little plastic tool they give you) so measure well to start with. More costly than if you just sweat pipes yourself, but being a weekend diy person, I did some sweating and used some of these connectors. February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product if you're not great with plumbing All of the quick connect (sometimes called shark bites) products are awesome. If you are like me, I am just good enough to not want to pay a professional to come in for simple plumbing fixes but don't feel comfortable soldering pipes. These little fellas are your solution! you can use it on just about any type of pipe and can feel 100% confident that you won't have leaks once you hear it click. Well worth the price if you're not a plumbing pro or just need to make a quick clean fix. TIPS: Make sure you have the pipe ends cut straight. Extremely uneven cuts will be your only chance of leaks. If you are doing multiple fittings close to each other such as two 90s for a hose connection, make sure you use pipe ties for support as the fittings will want to spin. Buy the little "C" shaped disconnect tool for each size fitting you are going to use. That way if you goof up or decide to change your routes you can reuse the fittings. December 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by popular and convenient but over-rated This series of fittings do work and are easy to install. To remove them, supposedly one of their main advantages? Not so much. Yes, the ring tool releases the pipe and allows it to slip out, mostly. With good hand space, room to apply a lot of leverage in the one hand position that works, and extra knuckles to replace the ones you bust... Recently I needed a low-cost manifold for my water lines in a mobile home, without investing in pex tools for fittings that are cheaper short-term but not enough to pay back the cost of tools I might not use much later. I used Flare-it tees instead of these: one-third the cost, leak-free, only slightly more challenging to install. For all valves, elbows and adapter fittings I used Shark-bite push connectors and am happy with them, but even with these the key is not to over-bend your pex, so that each end enters its fitting on a square axis, and to anchor all lines firmly so they can't move around. If you don't do this, these connectors WILL LEAK. But if you lay out supply lines mostly in straight lines or long, gentle curves, they work great. December 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The best product ever made, simple and easy to put together, with no soldering, it's GREAT........!!!!!! This products that Shark Bite created is the best products ever made for any waterline work out there, with NO soldering, fluxs, paste, etc,etc...!! Just cut pipe and plug-in fittings, and your good to go. Any plumber or Pipe fitter would be a lot happier to finish a lot faster than what we are use to doing to install copper, pvc, etc......!!!! Thanks Shark Bite your the BEST- #1 August 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Push and Done! I only had to push this on once! I've made the mistake of purchasing "Blue Bird" branded products in the past, and it leaked on the first attempt, so I had to redo the cut on the end of the pipe to get it to fit properly, but not with this SharkBite!! August 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surprised me... I'm not going to lie, I was skeptical of this T connector, despite the good reviews it had. I found it hard to believe that a push connector could work well on copper and PEX. But I figured I'd give it a try, since it would be the easiest solution for what I needed - I had to tap into an existing copper line. So I simply cut the copper pipe, pushed each end into the connector, pushed the new PEX line into the branch connector, and sure enough, it's held up excellent. Installation couldn't be easier, and there isn't a drop of water leaking from the connector. Well worth the $10 I spent! February 2, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Absolute junk I usually buy another brand of this type of product, but I happened to be in Home Depot. When I turned the water on the tee came apart from the copper hot water line under the kitchen sink. Thinking I must not have secured it properly, I re-checked the pipe and seated the tee again. It came apart again about a week later. Thank God my wife was home. It was a huge mess but could have been much worse. I have used a competitors brand many times and I know what I am doing. This brand is scary junk! February 4, 2015
