Product Overview

The SharkBite 1/2 in. Push-to-Connect x 1/4 in. Push-to-Connect Straight Loose Key Stop Valve controls water flow to plumbing fixtures. The Straight Stop Valve is used where the water pipe enters the room to allow for easy shut-off of water flow to the end fixture allowing for maintenance and repair without having to turn water off to the entire home or business. The loose key allows you to control the water flow and remove the key when not needed to prevent tampering with water flow. The SharkBite Push-to-Connect end allows you to simply push on to Copper, CPVC or PEX with no solder, clamps, unions or glue. Just insert the pipe and the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a perfect seal. Disassembly is just as fast using the simple disconnect tool so fittings and valves can be easily changed and reused. They can even be rotated after assembly for easier installation in tight spaces.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I'm Sold! So I was in the process of installing a new faucet in an 85-year-old house and realized that there were NO shut-off valves anywhere to the copper water pipes leading upstairs, save for the main house shut-off. I'm not a plumber by any stretch, and when the guy at Home Depot suggested Shark Bites, I was a bit skeptical. But I have to rave-- these things work like a charm!! Simply cut the pipe (leave at least 1.5" for the Shark Bite to slide over), hit the pipe with an emory cloth 'til it's shiny and burr-free, slip on the Shark Bite and you're done! Amazing! And it doesn't leak a drop! November 13, 2015
