Are SharkBite Plastic fittings compatible with the copper crimp rings?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, they are designed to be used the same way as our brass PEX/barb fittings and can be joined using the copper crimp rings or the stainless steel clamp rings. They are also rated the same at 200 degrees F and 200 psi.

Customer Reviews

1/2 in. Plastic PEX Barb 90-Degree Elbow is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good for my computer project 99% of people reading this probably aren't using these fittings for the application that I did, but I will still provide some input. I used these in the plumbing of my water loop inside my computer, paired with some 7/16" ID tubing. Compared to 90 degree metal rotary fittings at around $15 a piece, these things are great value for money. I would recommend using tube with a smaller diameter than 1/2" (excluding PEX of course, for which this product was designed) and getting some hose clamps to seal the connection. Out of 10 elbows in my machine, only one leak occurred, and that was partially due to the elbow being offset a bit, which caused some tension on the barb. As for the quality of these parts, 0 out of 10 that I used had any sort of defect. Flowrate was not impeded whatsoever in comparison to other 90 degree elbows. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality Barb I used this piece to install some new PEX pipe under my house. It is a lightweight but strong piece. I prefer these to the metal ones due to no potential of lead getting into the water.
