Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CJ First heard of this product on "Holmes Makes it Right" on HGTV. Couldn't be happier! This product works as advertised and certainly makes installation of a water heater a non-event. Would recommend it to any do-it-yourself homeowner.

Shark Bite makes plumbing easy. I only had to sweat one joint and would not have had to do that, if 24" SharkBites had been available. Great product.

Unfortunately, the chlorine in your water will deteriorate the rubber lining inside the flex hoses after a year or two. Within two years, I had rubber flecks inside a new hot water tank and coming out my bath tub faucet. These cause a problem in plugging up faucet aerators and washing machine supply valves... we had to have a new supply valve installed in our washing machine. I replaced the flex hoses with copper pipe and the problem went away. This has happened to quite a few others...just do an internet search. SharkBite should take this type off the market!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BeckyS Great replacement for those who don't solder
When it came time to do some maintenance on our hot water heater, we were looking for the easiest solution possible. We didn't want to buy the materials to solder the connection, so the shark bite connector provided a great option for us. Very easy to use for beginners and experienced alike. Will definitely use more shark bite products in the future!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Stan Sizes are misleading
The product works fine but the sizes are misleading. The 1/2" size doesn't mean much in both this and all other SharkBite fittings. The water heater end is for 3/4" NPT. The point of use water heater I was fitting it to had 1/2" nipples. The other end and all other SharkBite fittings I purchased stated they were 1/2" and would take copper tubing as well as other tubing. When you buy tubing or tube fittings, you buy them by the outside diameter. SharkBite must be talking about the inside diameter because their 1/2" fittings require 5/8" tubing. I returned all of the other SharkBite fittings I purchased and used compression fittings instead. On the hoses, I had to use 1/2" x 3/4" bushings at the heater end and pieces of 5/8' tube with 5/8" x 1/2" compression adapters at the 5/8" tube end. SharkBite needs to make it more clear the tube sizes that go with their fittings.
