If you do decide to glue, you will need to use CPVC fittings, not PVC because SharkBite PEX is Copper Tube Size and PVC is Iron Pipe Size the fittings for PVC are a different size. Another low cost alternative is you could use Plastic PEX Barb fittings and stainless steel clamps, both sold in the PEX bay. This will hold up better than gluing CPVC fittings to PEX. We make a fitting designed for exactly the transition you are trying to make. Model # UIP4008A is a 1/2" PEX, Copper or CPVC x 1/2" PVC transition fitting. The tan end will fit the 1/2" PEX and the White end will fit the PVC. Thanks for your interest in our products!

Answer:
This is semi-flexible. It will not bend a tight turn but it will flex a bit to allow for misaligned connections.

Answer:
Hi Jay,
PEX is freeze resistant; however, as with any other plumbing material, PEX must be insulated to protect from freezing.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic So easy to work with. Made relocating my washer and dryer a breeze. Great product at a low low price. June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Every handyman should have this in his garage All the plumbing I've ever done has been with copper piping and sweated or compression fittings. After moving to upstate New York the vast majority of the plumbing I've encountered is PEX tubing. I love it. It's so much more forgiving and easier to work with than ridged pipe. This five foot piece is great to have on hand for quick repairs. July 19, 2013
