Answer:
SharkBite push-fit fittings are certified for use within a concealed wall, but consulting with local plumbing codes is recommended for specific applications. It is also recommended to pressure test the system prior to sealing up the wall.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 74 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CAUTION: very brittle Sharkbite tubing is brittle and will break off (snap off) if flexed beyond it's (minimal) elastic limit. I used Sharkbite tubing purchased from HD for potable water in a new house on a concrete slab foundation. The Sharkbite tubing broke off (snapped off like a dry twig) flush with the concrete slab, even though it was properly shielded (per code) within a 3/4 flex conduit in the area where it emerged from the concrete slab. I have been forced to abandon Sharkbite tubing which was carefully placed under the slab, and install other tubing in the walls, above the slab. Plumbing contractor remarked that he would not use this tubing again. March 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PEX Pipe Light and easy to handle. Easy to install. Buy the good crimping tool to make the job a breeze. July 14, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does the plastic taste ever go away? It's been well over a year! Very easy to work with and install (cut, bend as needed and join together using sharkbite fittings). I bought everything at Home Depot in Tacoma, WA and installed in March 2015. Fortunately I only did one bathroom which was being remodeled and planned to do the rest of the house later. From the gitgo there has been a plastic taste when the faucets aren't used for a couple of hours. I cannot believe this stuff is still being sold. I will have my water tested and will go from there. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Peasy Really nice product. My only complaint is that I wish it was a little more flexible for installation. This is very stiff and comes in a roll. It's difficult to get it to straighten for those long runs. Job went well with no leaks and, for a DIY project, is perfect! August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Same as others Like others said it keeps wanting to roll back up anyway I also wanted pipe insulation on it. Took some work but once I got insulation sled on no trouble sliding on down the pex. Then did it again to but insulation on it took 17. I duct taped the insulation joints together so no pex would show. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value, Easy Install I used SharkBite PEX to replace copper line running to my Water Heater. The red and blue colors make it easy to distinguish Hot and Cold lines after install is complete. Using a SharkBite elbow I easily transitioned from Copper to PEX, the PEX is more flexible than copper and easy to work with, it is also a great value at much lower price point. PEX is easy to cut as well and can be done with a PEX Cutter sold at Home Depot. Great product very easy to work with and use for an average DIYer. May 20, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy to use I was going to use some copper piping I had on hand for a small job but I noticed that my HD also had 3' length of this available so I grabbed one of those and it made the whole job much easier and cheaper since I did not have to use two 90° elbows... Such a simple system with Sharkbite fittings. February 1, 2014
