Product Overview

The 1 in. SharkBite Push-to-Connect Elbow allows you to make a 90° connection to any combination of 1 in. Copper, CPVC or PEX Pipe. SharkBite fittings are the easiest way to join pipe and do not require soldering, clamps, unions, glue or tools to complete the job. Just insert the pipe and the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip tight, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to create a perfect seal. Disassembly is just as fast using the simple disconnect tool so fittings and valves can be easily changed and reused. They can even be rotated after assembly for easier installation in tight spaces. SharkBite Fittings are certified for potable water supply and hydronic heating applications. Get SharkBite and get a grip on your next plumbing project.

Can you connect to pvc pipe and pex ? If not is there a adaptor to do so ?

Asked by: tim
You can use this fitting to connect CPVC (off-white, yellowish) to PEX, they have the same outside diameter. The regular PVC pipes (white) have a different outside diameter and won't fit.

OD of Copper is different than Pex

The OD of 3/4 inch copper is 0.875 and OD of 3/4 inch Pex is 0.75. Is this fitting the one I should use to connect them?
Asked by: Justanod
No, the OD of 5/8" PEX is 0.75". 3/4" PEX has the same O.D. as copper tubing.

Not only does it work perfect, we can now 8x the work in a day compared to history, lugging tanks around, fumbling for fittings. My hats off to these guys for this product, bty, been using it since day one5*****

If you have never replaced a pipe or you're a first time home owner like myself. This product is a life saver. I have a torch, flux, and so on and so forth, but as I said I've never really used it them. With the SharkBite products there is no need for torches, flux, anything like that. Simply cut, clean, and place the PUSH to Connect products and your done. At first I was like,"Great, this is gonna cost hundreds if I have to call a plumber." Went to my FAVORITE store ever,,, that would be the Home Depot, picked up some copper pipe, a couple connectors and a new elbow. The entire repair took less then 10 Mins. Plus the wife will thinks I'm a genius. Awesome Product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best thing since sliced bread... The guy who invented these should be given the Nobel prize in plumbing. These adapters make any plumbing job a DIY job. I had to replace the outside faucet in my house that was all soldered copper connections and these made it a 1 hour replacement job. If I didn't cut my finger on the PEX cutting tool, this job would have been no sweat and no blood.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from upgrade is not great This product has just been upgrated and I believe not that well. I've used this product for years. The older version (through now) was easy on/easy off and water tight. The new one has a smaller profile, which looks nice, and is easy on/water tight. But if for any reason you want to take it off, good luck. I struggled with taking several of these off adjacent pex tubes. It is often the case that you will need to remove a tube, eg, if it is too long or if you need to change your configuration for any reason. If you are doing a bigger job, the main reason to spend so much more than the price of crimping is the flexibilty of reomving the connector from the tube without cutting the tube. In sum, you might as well crimp your tubes if you are going to use this solution, which is, for many, not something they'll want to hear.
