It has a rubber gasket in it, so that seems to imply a parallel thread... but I believe most water heater connector nipples are a tapered thread. Please clarify?

Thanks!

if your expansion tank, water filter, and bypass connection are 3/4" MPNT this connection hose will work for you. These hoses are rated for 200 psi and 200 degrees F.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 198 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by These water heater connectors start shedding rubber particles shortly after installation I had been experiencing black goo and rubber particles clogging many of the screens and filters in my house. After on line research I found it could be the black rubber liner in these connectors that was deteriorating. In deed that was the cause. I removed the hoses and cut them in half and the hot water hose was filled with black gunk. Also some in the cold water but not as bad. SharkBite claims it is caused by hard water and chlorine. Since most of the US has hard water and chlorine it would seem few are safe from deterioration. July 11, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I just called Sharkbite and Customer Service was as expected ... lousy I have the these lines on a water heater installed in Jan 2013. Thankfully I read these reviews, otherwise, I would never have figured out the cause of this problem. Who would expect these lines that are only 2.5 years old to start disintegrating in Delray Beach, FL. I just replaced them over the weekend and called customer service this morning. They did exactly what I anticipated which is to tell me that it is my problem to address. Evidently, they don't stand behind their overpriced and inferior products, but that should not come as a surprise in this day and age. Simple install but very poor quality!! July 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So easy a monkey could install it! Got frustrated with sweating faulty valve with pinhole leak. Was late at night and i needed two things. 1 sleep and 2 hot water. Cut above valve, sanded copper tubing and wiped with clean cloth before pushing this on. No leaks, good nights sleep and a hot shower the next morning. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome! Saved so much time with installation and it's easy. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by water connector What can one say about a hot water connector? It works. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sharkbite Products The shark bite products are easy to use and I have never had a leak with any installation. I find that this product may be higher in price than conventional connectors but when you add in ease of use and less labor than soldering which does not always work. Timewise, this product saves you money. June 28, 2016
