Product Overview

The versatile SharkBite 3-Handle Full-Size Clamp Tool crimps 3/8 in., 1/2 in., 3/4 in. and 1 in. stainless-steel clamp rings onto PEX tubing (rings and tubing not included). The 3-Handle design allows for one-handed gripping keeping the other hand free to hold a flashlight, ladder or pipe. The SharkBite PEX Clamp Tool compresses the stainless steel clamp ring to barb fittings creating a water tight seal. The clamp tool will not release from the clamp ring unless a properly-secured connection has been made. Only one clamp tool is required for all sizes of SharkBite PEX tubing installations, ranging from 3/8 in., 1/2 in., 3/4 in. and 1 in. fittings.

  • Use with stainless-steel clamp rings (not included)
  • Versatile clamp tool crimps 3/8 in., 1/2 in., 3/4 in. and 1 in. rings
  • Compatible with PEX pipe material
  • If properly calibrated, this tool eliminates the need to check each fitting ring with a go/no-go gauge (not included)
  • Ergonomically designed tool

The problem is the need to hold the clamp in one hand and compress with the other. Does this tool accomplish that.

Not a ratchet type, it is the same as a pair of pliers,
but with a cutting edge.

Yes, this is a ratcheting clamp tool. It can be operated by one hand by initially using the smaller handle to begin the clamp. Once that the clamp is on tight enough so it does not move, then you can use both hands to complete the clamp. The ratchet will not release until the clamp ring has been clamped all the way.
