Used on Pex pipe to copper tubiing to remove sharp outer edge and chamfer the edge of copper tubing in preparation to install push in Sharkbite fitting as well as a depth gauge to make sure the push in Sharkbite fittings were installed to the correct depth. Made the job easier and I found one of copper tubing's were concentric when the Sharkbite connector would not slide all the way to the mark.

Doesn't deburr at all , in fact it creates more burrs then a fresh cut with a tubing cutter just use a file .

If your planning to run pex make sure you use this tool without it your more likely to cut your pipe to short or get a leak . It's straight forward and shouldn't be overlooked

This makes your life easier when installing pipes. Each socket has at its base a sharp blade which deburrs the end of the pipe with a few twists.
Works with copper and PEX, (probably also PVC but I have not tried that yet)

As a deburring tool, it sucks. It leaves a rough edge that can damage the plastic collar on the fitting. Do yourself a favor and if you don't have a quality deburring tool, a light touch with a file if necessary, and some 80 grit paper will give you a smooth edge. As a depth gauge, it's fine.

Purchased my Shark Bites for my kitchen plumbing and went home. I had a couple of questions before I installed so I went back to Home Depot and the plumbing dept. guy ask if I had the Shark Bite Safe Seal Tool. For the money it is a great investment. After I cut my Shark Bite 1/2" plumbing pipe, I lightly twisted the pieces through the Safe Seal Tool and sure enough, it nicely and easily cleaned up the ends of each piece of pipe, plus, you can mark the 1" mark exactly with the tool. Hooked the valves and connectors up with my piece of pipe then slid them right over the old piping, which in my case was polybutylene (old mobile home grey plumbing). If you have the same, make sure to use Shark Bites for polybutylene. Works well! Would not hesitate to use Shark Bites for any future plumbing project.

I have the old poly tubing in my house and this tool works great for cleaning up the edges before installing a Shark Bite T. Highly recommend for any type of tubing. The tool fits several different sizes of tubing or pipe.
