I have had this combo microwave oven for two months have been putting it through its paces. The 900 Watt microwave function works as you would expect. What makes this unit special is all the other cooking modes that accompany the microwave function.
The first test I tried was to see how accurate the convection oven temperature was, and how long it would take to reach a preset temperature. I placed a thermocouple probe in the center of the empty oven to measure temperature. I set the temperature to 425 deg. F. It took 20 minutes for the temperature to reach 423 deg. I also tried settings of 300, 350, 400, and 450. I found that the temperature held within 2 degrees of setpoint for all these temperature except for 450. The oven would only get to 430 degrees.
The Roast function is very effective. It works using a combination of microwaves and convection heating. The microwave comes on at 30 percent power to speed cooking the interior of a roast, and the convection ovens browns the outside. I cooked a two pound bottom round roast in 25 min. and it came out great. The outside was well browned and the inside was juicy.
Convection Mode. You can set this with Preheat or convection without preheat.
Grill Mode: You can set this for Top Grill or Top and Bottom Grill
The unit has many preprogrammed cooking modes to cook specific foods.
The sturdy removable turntable is porcelan covered steel on the bottom and the top has an easy to clean non-stick surface. The interior is stainless steel. The exterior has an attractive appearance and good fit and finish.
Here are few things to watch out for. The unit puts out heat from the top back of the oven. I had to install a heat shield under the cabinet that is over the oven to protect canned goods in the cabinet from getting too warm. Also, it's difficult to get hot pans out of the oven since there are no shelves that slide out. Pans sit on the turntable or rack and so you have to reach into a hot oven to get pans out.
The turntable occationally makes a grinding noise. The digital display has a narrow angle of view. If the oven is on the kitchen counter, this is no big deal. But if it's lower or higher, you won't be able to read the display. Overall, I'm very happy with this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HappyChef This product does everything! Use it instead of the oven or grill often.
Purchased this when my Magic Chef kept humming after it completed cooking food. Spent a little more than I had planned but well worth it. Could not be happier with it. Cooks and defrosts food much more evenly. Have so far used Compu cook , Compu pizza and Compu grill features. (just keep the manual near the unit for a while to know what setting numbers to use). No soggy pizza crust! Crisp how I like it. Was surprised how well it grills food. Takes longer than a regular grill, but food comes out with grill lines as if cooked on an outside grill. So many more features that I look forward to exploring.

the convection feature saves energy instead of using my large oven. it's a nice size for 9"x9" pans or use the large tray provided. I saved the tray from my old sharp convection oven and use that to switch out when i want to microwave right after using for convection. the chart inside of the door is a nice feature. bakes great!

I purchased this oven based on so many positive reviews on this site. My tenant says it's great and she can't understand how it cooks steak so well! She's happy, so I'm happy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AnaheimChile So far we're delighted with our new microwave
We haven't had this little oven very long, but so far it's doing great. Our old Sharp MW lasted 15 years or so before the turntable began to grind and hesitate. I had some concerns about the build quality of a new one but it looks good at this point. Door feels substantial enough. Shipping didn't damage anything, even the box was unharmed and it arrived in matter of a few days.
I also feared the controls might be overly complicated or too menu-driven. But it's very easy to cook simple things manually, just input time then power level and fire it up.
One minor quibble: if you're tall you can't read the display without bending down or backing away from it a little; but that's easy enough to live with.
My wife has used it to roast a chicken, and I can still easily make oatmeal and reheat coffee. So if this lasts half as long as our old one I'll be a satisfied customer. :^ )

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cara Excellent oven, once you learn to use it.
I love this convection oven. I use it often in place of heating up the regular one. The only drawback is that it takes time to learn to use it, and I have to refer to the instruction book a lot, but it can't be beaten for heating up frozen foods, especially those you normally have to bake for a long time....

I've not had sufficient time to fully evaluate the features of this oven. There are many different options and I can only report on what I have used. Therefore the jury is still out on whether I would recommend it or not.
The convection oven. I tried to cook a chicken dish from a standard recipe which was to cook at 350 for 50 min., uncovered. I set the oven for this temperature and time. The chicken was rubber, HARD rubber when it finished and basically not eatable. I know my conventional oven when used as a convection the temperature is lower and the time usually shorter, so I definitely need to experiment more to find out just how to adjust for standard recipes.
The microwave. For the most part works like any microwave. However the Panasonic I replaced had a power of 1200, where this is 900. We frequently cook poppadom in the wave by brushing them with a little oil. The package says to cook them this way for 45 seconds. In the old oven they would puff up in 30 seconds. I put them in this oven for a minute, then another minute and then a third minute and they still would not puff. Ended up cooking them under the broiler in my conventional oven. This is the only microwave problem I have had. All other dishes have seemed to cook okay.
There is an instruction booklet, but it is not very helpful. There is also a chart inside the door which I find difficult to read (there is no light that shines on it, the printing is black on silver which creates a glare)
