Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for the Buck Works great on all cooking I have done tho have not done roasting yet. Looking forward to doing a roast this weekend. Only regret is that it doesn't have a built in kit. Wish they, Samsung, had not discontinued this. Would be perfect if they kept it and added it in white too. I recommend it for anyone wishing to add a convection microwave to their kitchen. I have it in a cabinet and will just have to construct my own built in facing. Also I looked at Samsung Direct and Lowes. It was cheaper by 15 bucks at Home Depot than Samsung and about 35 less than at Lowes. If you want one get it at the Depot. Shipping is very good thru H-D too. September 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Maintains the high quality of Sharp appliances I had a Sharp Microwave/Convection for 30 yrs. so, after shopping around, decided on another Sharp. I have not been disappointed. There is a learning curve to learning the controls, but once I learned how to negate all its "suggestions". I'm doing fine. Baking is nice and even. Microwave is 'way more powerful (900 watts), than it was 30 years ago (650 watts), so it is even more efficient. I haven't figured out how to combine microwave and convection yet, but the grill feature is nice. My only complaint is that the display is very hard to read unless I squat down so I am right in front of it. All the lines in the display are active all the time. Would I buy another Sharp? Without blinking! August 1, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Unit - Nice addition to the kitchen It’s not a large as the Kenmore microwave oven I’m replacing; that being said I’m happy with the purchase. I would suggest using round baking dishes; handle cooking ware reduces your usable space. It’s a solid unit and I love the convection feature. March 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best thing that doesn't slice bread! This is my second of these ovens. Bought the first in 1998 and the only problem was after nine years the display lost a few digits but was repaired for less than $30.00 by a gentleman on the internet. Took the old one to the cabin and bought this new one for home use. I can't think of any food that I made in it that was unsatisfactory. Never tried a steak or hamburgers as I am a strict barbecue grill man for those. When it comes to a frozen pizza it takes 16 minutes and gives you perfection that rivals a pizza shop oven. Anyone will love this fantastic product. Simply amazing. November 2, 2009
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good idea, poor execution Rated low due to the fact that it is the opposite of intuitive. Simple things, such as heating something for 1 minute on medium power are multi step operations. Also, and perhaps mainly, the display can ONLY be viewed at eye level, meaning you have to bend at the waist to see what is on the display. It is impossible to see otherwise even at slight downward angles. Very annoying especially since programming cook times is so convoluted. It did cook a rising crust frozen posse beautifully. However, the fan blew hot HOT air into the kitchen for 10 minutes after it was done. Completely defeated the purpose of not heating up the oven. And the thought of having a microwave that required the use if the owners manual for EVERY SINGLE OPERATION was too much. Returned it after 2 days. Also, the unit is very noisy AND has a 3 inch metal protrusion on the back so it always looks like it's not pushed back against the wall. March 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Multi-use kitchen appliance The versatility of this combination oven is impressive. It grilled hamburgers perfectly and roasted in a much shorter time than a conventional oven. The lower wattage was a challenge because my previous microwave oven was rated at 1200 watts so I have had to adjust my thinking when setting the microwave. Everything considered, I am very pleased with the oven but be warned that reading the manual is critical to good performance when using this oven. August 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So pleased I have thought a lot before purchasing this Sharp convection microwave. It is almost 5 times more expensive than a normal microwave. But when I bought. It is so good and conveniently helpful. it replaces almost everything in the kitchen. It cooks much faster, very even and for an amateur chef like me, it really helps a lot from doing simple sauce to complicated roasted recipe. It saves me time, electricity and serve great dishes. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice combination appliance I bought this for my 95 yr. old mother when her microwave gave out. She also had a toaster oven, so this combination will serve for both pieces as her counter space is limited. The microwave does seem to be a bit slower than a conventional microwave and we have not had opportunity to adequately rate the oven/ convection. Hopefully it will serve her well. May 6, 2011
