The appliance is aesthetically appealing and looks nice in our kitchen. Unfortunately, this unit died within 3 months of use. Replacement and installation was all covered by Sharp warranty. The second unit worked fine for 13 months before it died. We are awaiting a reply from Sharp on this second unit. Read all the reviews on this website and reconsider purchasing this microwave. We will not recommend this unit due to its short life span and hassle to replace/repair.

Mine just died trying to re-heat my thanksgiving leftovers... and what do you know it is just over 2 years old! (Sound familiar to many owners who have had it for more than 2 years?) I pressed the close button, the electronics flashed and that was that. Fuse is fine but unit is dead. Very overpriced microwave to begin with (and it was made by Sharp!?!)... but not a long term quality product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dead in 2 Years Like many other consumers stated, mine also died within the second year. It is clear that this is a product nobody should buy unless they want a product to last less than 2 years. This Microwave was born with the "2 Year Syndrome" which has no cure. Unlike some other customers reported, SHARP USA did not offer me to cover the cost of diagnosis. They gave me a short list of authorized dealers that I can take it to for repairs. I am taking it to curbside for garbage truck instead.

I did have to return it though, as the front stainless steel panel had an obvious manufacturing flaw. Debris behind the panel created a bump which in turn created a 3 inch diameter indentation next to it. Home Depot was gracious and excepted the return. Because I was in a time crunch during a full kitchen remodel, I found the same model in stock at a local supplier. I am extremely happy with the microwave. It was easy to install. It has the function buttons I use and heats up food evenly. It's also very quiet in my open kitchen. Great product.

One works, the other does not work, unless you count throwing your hip into the door and pressing start 12 times working... Sharp customer service has been a nightmare. We have been passed around from representative to representative 4 times over the last week and no one has admitted their fault, or provided a resolution. Will be returning and trying to purchase another brand. Avoid this product. There are many negative reviews and we should have listened to them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic microwave This is the coolest microwave. Not only does it look beautiful, but it's very functional. I love that I don't have to reach above my head to take dishes out to stir them. Looking down on the plate or bowl makes so much more sense. It's also much easier for the kids to reach. So far (after 2 months) we've had no problems. As with all microwaves, it takes a bit of time to gauge how quickly it heats and how to use its full capabilities, but spend 10 minutes reading the manual and you'll get it. Did I say how beautiful this microwave is?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after 5 years Stay away from this product. It looks wonderful until it breaks. Seems none of them are lasting more than 5 years. So, then you have a "built in" piece of you know what in your island. Service is horrible. A guy came out for 5 minutes told us what parts we needed and told us to pay him $180 service fee. I told him he would get paid when its actually repaired. He has not called or shown up after that. For $900 an appliance should last 10 years. Home depot, please get products that you can stand behind, Sharp is not the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fit for modern kitchen Sharp makes the internals for all drawer microwaves, so no matter which brand name is on the front, it's a Sharp. That said the microwave works well, and seems to have plenty of cooking power. The one thing I would say in the negative, is that the "pre-programmed" settings are things that most folks do not use in day to day life. Why have a sensor button for softening ice cream, but not one for softening butter?
