The carpet squares were easy to install, though the backing that covers the adhesive is somewhat hard to remove (my son had to remove them for me).
The quality is Average, I've had an office chair with wheels on the carpet (with no pad, yeah, I know) and the nap has begun to compress and shed a bit (after 4 weeks of use).
The look of the tiles is a bit indoor/outdoor style, not very much padding. However, It really did fix up our basement office room.
The ease of installation and the price and the quality, though, balance out and I think this is a good carpet tile solution for a secondary-type room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JoyfulinMN Great Product!
We installed the tiles in our basement for a playroom. We created a checkerboard pattern with two different colors. It turned out great! The backing came off with no problems and the tile glue stuck to the concrete. The only hard part of the installation was keeping the nap of the tiles in the same direction, other than that it was a breeze.

Carpet is decent quality. Best suited for a laundry room or perhaps a storage room you are looking to carpet. The backing of the tiles is difficult to remove however the tiles seem to stay in place well with the adhesive. I used the tiles for a basement stair project and overall I am happy with the finish. I used some metal nosing to cover the nosing and a staple gun to fasten the carpet under the treads. Cost of this vs. bringing in a carpet company was a no-brainer. I have plenty of tile left over if I need to replace a worn or damaged tile.
Would use it again, just don't expect a high end carpet at this price.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mary Tiles work perfectly over old linoleum in a closet.
The product worked perfectly and looks good. It was a little difficult to get ahold of the plastic film on the back to pull off . . . once you got enough of it between your fingers, it came off okay . . .just hard to get it started. Otherwise, the job went smoothly and didn't take long. I used good kitchen sheers to cut the squares which was easier than with a untility knife . . .just cut along the ridge line. Would buy this product again. Not sure I would like a whole room though where the ribbing run at 90 degrees to each other . . . makes more of a pattern than i would like in a big room.

Where do I start...We just bought a house that has the 9x9 industrial asbestos tile in the basement. We wanted a quick and easy solution to covering them. These tiles were the perfect idea. They stuck to the tile great...they've been in for a month with no peeling corners and no problems at all. They look amazing (I did greay and black tile for a checker pattern) and were super easy to install! Took my fiance and I about 4 hours (including making all our cuts) for around 350 sq/ft. The only semi-complaint I have is that one whole box of tile gave us quite a headache when trying to remove the plastic from the adhesive back. Other than that one box we had no problems. I would definetly recommend purchasing these!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Verified Reviewer great product at this price point- easy to install
I did lots of research knowing I had to be in this price point. I was pleased with the quality of the tiles , they are fairly thick and nice construction. My 17 year old son and I installed them in our basement and it was quite easy. With a sharp exacta knife we were able to make all of the cuts and the finished product looked great. We found all of the glue/backing to work just fine. I noticed that earlier complaints were about that but the manufacturer had addressed it and I'm pleased to say every single carpet tile peeled and set perfectly for us.

1. The color varies from box to box. We bought only 7 boxes. Some lighter, some darker. Not a big deal for a den. But still it is noticeable. I would not want it for other area.
2. Not easy to peel the backing, to get hold of the film on every next piece. Then it peels off fine. I could do it with my fingernails. My husband had problems. He would spent most of the time peeling if I could not help him.
3. I would give it better scores if color was even. I recommend it for small rooms (den, office) where you need to put carpet fast and do-it-yourself to cut on costs.

Years ago when these were still Bretlin I did 2 basement rooms and they were great. Now that they're owned by Shaw I'm much less impressed. I put down 500 sq feet on a basement concrete floor and was amazed at the variation between boxes in the adhesive integrity -- even within a box. Almost 20% were nearly impossible to get the plastic off the adhesive and doing so actually removed a lot of the backing along with it. On the other hand, over 30% were barely tacky and had trouble sticking to my concrete floor. I had mopped the floor and let it dry, so dust wasn't the issue -- they were barely tacky as soon as the plastic was removed and before setting. Quite disappointing. I had none of these issues before when a Bretlin product.
