How does this floor react to a small puddle of water sitting on it for an extended time? We don't intentionally leave water on the floor, but between kids and dogs, sometimes it happens. We had a laminate that would swell at the seams. will this product do the same?

Did you ever get an answer? We have the same question. We have Pergo and had the same issues with our kids and our dog drooling on the floor. We have swelling at the seams and would like to know if this engineered hardwood would swell under similar circumstances and how resistant is it to scratching from our 50 lb dog's nails.

As far as "extended" period of time... say one of the kids came in with snow on their shoes and did not take them off where they are supposed to and snow melts on the floor and sits there for 2 or 3 hours before someone sees it. Or if I am at work and our geriatric dog leaves a puddle on the floor for 7 or so hours until we get home and notice it. I've had both of these happen even though it's shoes off Read More

Or if I am at work and our geriatric dog leaves a puddle on the floor for 7 or so hours until we get home and notice it. I've had both of these happen even though it's shoes off and a dog that previously had a bladder of steel will get old and not make it as long. I just need to know if this will delaminate or swell. I am trying to find a realistic durable, yet beautiful flooring for my Alaska home in the woods. Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic! It looks great and we love it! It doesn't show any scratches at all and is perfect for pets or kids. It does have areas that will catch a swiffer a little though so you have to get used to its texture. It was a little higher than some other woods we were considering, but you do get what you pay for. It went together pretty easily. We installed 800 sq ft in around 24 hours total labor time. June 19, 2012
