Can I use this for covering hairline cracks in the ceilings?

My ceilings are covered with hairline cracks. I am looking for something thin to cover the ceilings with. Would this work for this purpose?
Asked by: gg101
I assume you have so many cracks its not worth applying a watered down mud? If so, yes use the 1/4 drywall!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Covering plaster walls. Used to cover cracking plaster walls. Plaster was on cement block. Glued and used tapcons to attach. The beveled edge sits neatly on top of base board. Will caulk where base board and drywall meet.
