I've sometimes seen half-sheets in stores over with the half-sheets of plywood. I presumed they were salvaged from damaged sheets instead of throwing the whole thing in the dumpster. Or it could be that the store gets enough people asking for half-sheets that they're willing to cut one for you and put the other half on the shelf. You're probably more likely to find 1/2" than the 5/8 which is less commonly used. I would call around your nearby stores and ask. I expect any store would cut a sheet in half for you and sell you the sheet. Whether you took both halves would be up to you. Read Less

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Drywall Purchase Drywall was packaged and ready for pick-up. Loaded onto truck with ease. Product was clean and ready for install. Smooth lines and square. This made installation less of a hassle. Because the drywall was firecode core 5/8", product does have some weight to it. Make sure you have help for moving and installing of product. March 11, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Okay drywall but paper is poor. As drywall goes it's fine, but the quality of the paper seems to be poor. I had quite a few tears and bumps around screw heads that required extra work to smooth out. Not every one, but some would go in clean while others would not no matter how I fine-tuned my screw gun. The tears were small with only small bits of paper coming up around the screw, but it still required extra attention to fix. A few spots created a small bump in the drywall around the screw that had to be hammered back in. Beveled edges seemed more problematic than the field. No problems at all with other thicknesses and brands of drywall on the same project; they all drove perfectly clean. Not thrilled. The next time I need 5/8" I'll try another brand. October 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I bought this sheetrock to replace damaged and warped old drywall in my dining room. Due to its thickness and fire code approved we noticed less heat transfer from the attic. All pieces (16 total) were all in great shape and square. Screws have a good bite on the panels and mudding/taping was a breeze. The panels weigh about 70lbs a piece, but thanks to the rented drywall lift (at the Home Depot tool rental center) it was easy getting the job done! June 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality product I purchased this to use in an exercise room that I had built near the pool. It proved to be extremely effective. April 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product I don't understand how people give a product a bad review on Sheetrock when you purchase it and it's damaged just exchange it. Some people can never be happy. March 7, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Defective board Picked up 17 5/8 inch 4 X 8 board more then half had paper damage, gouges, paper ripped or torn off, water damage on a few, corners damaged or broken off.. November 12, 2014
