Panels feature tapered long edges for easy finishing.

Customer Questions & Answers

Do you carry or can I order to my local store 54 in x 12 ft x 1/2 in lightweight drywall. If so, how much?

Asked by: Anonymous
Unfortunately the THD rep didn't answer your question. The standard width of all sheetrock available is 48", although builders purchasing large quantities can spec a particular width.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected I had no trouble with any of it. I bought 3 different sizes and they were easier to handle than regular drywall. They scored and broke as expected. They do seem to gum up the knife blades faster so buy extras.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This new lightweight gypsum panel is significantly lighter than regular sheetrock, but it also seems more brittle I like this product. It is a lot easier to carry and maneuver on the job site. It seems to be just as stiff/strong as regular sheetrock. One thing I did notice is that when cutting off relatively narrow strips (e.g., 3 inches or so), the strips have a tendency to break more than regular sheetrock does.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to work with This ultralight drywall is easy to work with even in the 12 footers. The weight difference is substantial and allowed me to handle these sheets by myself. They scored and snapped very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great product It is much lighter but it manages to retain all of the strength of a normal weight sheet. I will definitely by it again for my next project.
