Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely impressed with this carport I have a small homestead outside Boulder, Colorado and after the recent flooding damage, I found myself in need of a shop/materials storage area that I could put up quickly and inexpensively before the snow hits for the season(barely made it!). I built a platform out of pressure treated lumber to build the carport on; this area is prone to extremely high winds(gusts over 120mph), and tons of snow so I didn't want it anchored directly to the ground. It took me roughly 2 days to get this built, by myself and including the platform. If you look at the first picture, you can see that the winds got strong enough this week to UPROOT FREAKING PINE TREES. I've never seen that happen before, and this carport was completely unphased. It was shaking pretty heavily but none of the fabric tore, no bent metal, nothing. This week we've gotten about 20 inches of snow total and the thing is holding up great. Another precaution I took was spraying the top arch with the Rustoleum Never-wet spray, which I think has helped snow not gather along the flattest portion of the ridge. All in all, this thing is great. It was easy to assemble and with the lag bolts and platform, it is rock solid. My only complaint about this structure is that while the sides hang down enough to sort of diaper the whole thing and keep the elements out, the front and back flaps have about a 6 inch gap at the bottom, and I have not yet figured out how to deal with that. For now, a pile of 2x4's at each end are working but it makes it less accessible.Interested to see how it tackles the rest of the winter. December 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great design and assembly instructions that make sense. I purchased the Shelterlogic 10 X 20 Autoshelter to shelter my 19 ft. boat. I purchased this model based on the design as the round shape looks to cause less wind drag and many online reviews share experiences of wind destroying their shelters.. Note that my boat is a tight fit for this size of shelter and I am aware it was designed specifically for autos. This product weighs 150 lbs. so the $55 shipping charge was a bargain. I was concerned that the 1 3/8th's steel frame would not be strong enough but this design used 8 ribs, 3 cross bars, 2 cover bars holding the cover on tight and 8 ratcheting tiedowns that pulls the entire structure and cover together. The steel is bolted together and minimal tools are needed. Four anchors are provided but I added 6 additional anchors so each leg was securely anchored to avoid the wind lift. I also added 4 ratcheting straps that tied the shelter to the boat trailer eliminating any chance of wind damage. I did not have any missing parts and found the assembly instructions helpful and well written. The design is somewhat complex so don't expect to speed through the assembly. The instructions recommend 2-3 persons build it but I did it myself and it took about 8 hours. There are times when a helper is a good idea. I especially like the wrap around design on the ends of the shelter. In my opinion the small amount extra that I spent for this product provided good value and a superior design. November 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Protection from the inclimate weather I needed a shelter for my convertible so it will last longer that it would roasting in the sun or sitting out in the pouring rain/snow. I ordered this as the car would fit and it was narrow enough to still fit in my driveway. it went togetrher easily and I needed very little help assembling it. all went as the instructions stated and there were no surprises. it is now set up and housing my "project" car, without worries to the weather. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Llama Shelter I needed a shelter that could hold up to wind and be assembled during this month Feb 2015. It is bitter outside and the wind is howling! I started with the posts inside by putting all together except for certain rails that had to be done outside. I did this after work for a few hours. The day of assembly my son and grandson came to help. We had it up and llama ready in 3 hrs. It was cold but we did it. We had to use sand bags for the time being to hold down the shelter and that is doing the trick for now. Like I said, this is a temporary fix for my girls till their shelter is built in the Spring. I will use this for their hay storage during the winter. Love it and the llamas have no problem using it. February 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap & Cheerful! Having to get rid of my sheds to build a new workshop storage building, I was forced into finding somewhere or something to store all my tools and equipment. Upon checking prices on pods and storage lockers etc, I found that buying a temp shelter was the cheapest way to go. HD had a good selection on their site and was by far the lowest price. Although I did have some concerns about buying this shelter, it quickly dissolved those concerns after I assembled it. It really is well made and easy to assemble, but I would recommend asking for a hand as it is big. My biggest concern was the weather most being the wind and rain. WELL we recently had a 45mph wind and rain storm and this shelter stood up to it and laughed in its face. Zero movement and no leaks either, does things get any better than that. As I was only buying this shelter to use for a few months to store my stuff until my new building is complete. I saved hundreds (yes hundreds) of dollars buying this shelter compared to other storage options. I was planning on selling it on after I am done with it, but because it is that good i'm thinking I need to find a wee space for it in my new shed just incase I may need it again. June 11, 2013
