Customer Questions & Answers

how tall is the 90430 12' high firewood rack?

Asked by: Anonymous
The legs are about 6" from ground to bottom of rack "tubes" Rack tubing is about 2". From log surface to the top of the rack is about 45 inches. I have wood stacked about 5.5 feet high. It holds 1.5 facecord of wood and the wood must be at least 16 inches long to be stable. In my personal opinion, any wood cut more that 36 inchs in length would destabilize the rack.

Had a cord of wood delivered today cut in 16" length and the rack held up nicely. We had to stack wood underneath and on both sides so you can see by the photo just how much it holds. Wish it held more. Haven't used the cover yet. Photo is of a whole cord. Would recommend product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Just Right Affordable. Easy to put together. The cover is a little narrow for standard wood cuts but not an issue. The description says it'll hold 3/5 of a cord and that is what I've got on there... well, a bit more than that. It's sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does it's job. I bought two of these racks and had them both assembled in about 45-minutes, being careful not to over tighten the bolts. After placing them in the location I chose, (dirt) I used scrap pieces of pressure treated lumber under the legs where they contact the ground to make sure it didn't flex when loaded with wood. When they were ready to go, I loaded them both to their maximum capacity (top of the vertical rails) and then put the included covers on each one. Not only are they solid as a rock, they look great with their functional covers in place. My only regret was not buying three of them. Recommended.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best Assembled the rack and filled it with wood. Next day wood was laying along my fence and the legs were twisted. 12' may be too long. Had to remove all the wood and try to tighten the bolts (which were already crushing the tubes)! I have an 8' rack from another manufacturer that has never fallen apart.
