Customer Questions & Answers

Will enough sunlight penetrate for vegetable garden usage?

Asked by: Neobius
Good question! I would think it would depend on which veggies are under it, how far from the equator you are, and how much sunshine you get. My tomatoes wouldn't like it, but maybe my green beans would. I'd try it out and ask them what they think. This particular roll says it's 85% UV protection, which isn't very strong as this shade cloth can go.

is this great to use for dogs?

I want to create shade for my dogs and place this on the side to house...will this work?
Asked by: nicky
Yes....... it will give you nice shade. It's not 100% sun blocking I don't think because I use it with my sun part shade plants and I know they need some sunlight and they as really growing nicely. Besides shade for your is good to shade plants like I said but also kids, parents, outside gatherings. Pretty much anything needing some relief from the harsh sun or elements. Mainly I use it to shade my turtle ponds. I have the green cloth. I love the sea blue color best though. Three years I've had it up. I keep it up all year.

Yes, but it will leave lots of little "threads" to clean up, so do that outside.

does it come in tan or green?

Asked by: donna
Yes it does. I have green. My neighbor has tan and my other neighbor just got this sea blue and I like the color best. ( I'm on the site to order sea blue. But my green cloth I purchased in October 2014. And it's still doing its job. I'm not going to try to push it lasting through another summer and winter for this next season by I think it's a great deal. I mean a product that actually does what it claims to do at a reasonable price. How often do we get that anymore?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from its not CLOTH!!! Not sure what is the purpose of this thing. Does not block out the sun. The light blue color poorly diffuses sun light. It softens it a little bit but you feel the heat coming through when the sun is over head. Not significant enough to where you feel your stiting in shade. Dimensions are fine. If you want plants to still get light but with less intensity when the the sun is at its peak, this would be a good product. If you want a shaded patio to block the sun this is a bad product. Almost forgot its a plastic material with little holes over the entire product. Its not CLOTH!!! Deceiving name.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shade Cloth works well I used it to block the afternoon sun from my horse stall and it did the job, however it also blocked some of the airflow so in the end I took it down. Very good quality sunscreen, better than expected.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Price and Nice Color Option I needed the sun screen shade cloth to place over my two pergolas, because the lattice work was not enough to protect the plants from the California sun. The color, size and quality is great. It was also the first time I ordered something from Home Depot online...too dangerous to walk around the store and spend more than I have LOL.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expensive screening. Not much better then nylon window screen. Ordered 2 of them and the length varied by 2 ft. Only running edges were finished. Edges not reinforced to allow gromets. Near impossible to square when they were not square in the beginning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from should be called blueish grey shade plastic It's not fabric but rather some kind of plastic with a million tiny holes. The color is desaturated blue, not at all the rich blue they have pictured. I am returning this.
