What length wood can the rack hold?

We get our wood in 16" lengths; will this rack accommodate logs of this length?
Asked by: Anonymous
You would need to put a board on the bottom of the rack, like a piece of plywood, to use it with 16" length wood.

do you sell the cover only for the ShelterLogic 8 ft. Firewood Rack by itself. I have one without a cover

Asked by: Anonymous
The cover is worthless. It's too short, by about 3-4 inches. The width of the rack inside upright pole to inside upright pole is 99 inches. The cover is deisgned for exactly 96 inches...3 inches too short. After talking to customer service, they appear to be aware of the issue but can only offer to replace cover with same size. Seems like they messed up, know it, but continue to sell rack with cover that is too short to actually cover rack properly.

Can the firerack be purchased in a shorter length?

I would like to 'fit' it into the side of my patio - and need to keep within 6 foot. Even 4 foot would work.
Asked by: Van42
I am pretty sure they offer a 4ft version.

8 ft. Firewood Rack with Cover is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 137.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Firewood Storage Rack!! My husband put this together in no time. We bought the 8' model. We covered a small dirt area next to our firepit & neighbor's old fence with landscape cloth, topped with 3 bags of pebbles, set down 3 pavers & then set firewood rack on top. Logs we already had on hand fit perfectly on it as did provided cover. Cover fits perfectly & should do a great job of helping keep wood dry (especially since storage area is exposed to the elements). Highly recommend. Buy it - you won't be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent in every way. Shipped promptly, easily assembled, works great. 4 tips (as others have mentioned): 1) put bricks or pavers underneath legs so they don't sink into the ground under the weight of the wood, 2) don't try to fit more than 3/4ths of a face cord on rack, 3) use longer pieces of wood for bottom row so logs don't fall through space between bars, and 4) cross-stack the logs on the ends so they don't force the bars of the rack to bow out. Do those 4 things and rack will be perfect for your needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They should change some of the hardware I found this firewood rack to be of very good quality, I have more than a face cord in it and it's not bowing out on the sides much at all. The hardware needs to be changed, the bolts and nuts supplied are not the ones that should be with this rack. Bolts should be hex heads and nuts should be self locking, I also bought washers to go under the nuts. The washers they supply are meant to shims that go below the cross straps. The reason they should change the carriage bolts to hex is they didn't punch square holes in the frame to accept the carriage bolts, I used a pair of long nose Vise Grips to hold the round head of the bolts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wouldn't recommend Rack is made of strong and thick materials. A few glaring design flaws: 1) bars are too far apart so anything under 20 or so inches will fall through unless stacked very carefully. No doubt pile will eventually collapse as wood is removed. 2) Cover barely fits so if the side bars push out due to weight, and they will, the cover just won't fit.
