Customer Questions & Answers

The specs say 0 lbs load on roof, and 0 mph wind load? How can this be? is this correct?

Asked by: tomg
The first thing that came out of the (poorly-packed) box was a large notice that read: THIS CANOPY IS NOT RATED FOR SNOW LOAD AND NOT RETURNABLE IF DAMAGED BY WEATHER. That makes the product unusable in half the country.

does it close?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, it zips closed. Both ends of mine have a zippered door(two zippers) and the "door" rolls up and bungees to the top of the doorway while it's open. It's rather like a tent in that way only a bit thicker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money Bought the shed 2 years ago. The tarp ripped within the first year and now it is ripped at every point in comes in contact with the metal frame of the roof. Very inferior product. Would not reccommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This shelter is what I ordered and I recieved what I wanted. My wife and I put up this shelter in about 3 and a half hours. It was as complicated as you would expect. There were about a hundred poles that had to be bolted together and then the tarps over them. It helps to know how the ratcheting straps work before you start. And don't tighten the bolts too much or it will bend the poles. You will need a ladder, patience, and a second person to help hold the frame while you bolt everything together. The most important step is to remember to have a nice cold beer for when this project is completed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You need a friend or two or three before you start! I read the instructions and assembled as directed. Reviewing the parts and the roof took about an hour. You can do that yourself. After that you need some help, two or three friends would be preferred. A few of the pieces had the holes drilled in the wrong place. Shelterlogic sent out replacements quickly. The frame is the easy part. The 2 doors are going to take some work to get them right. The webbing will rip through them if done wrong. Or in my case if the pocket is not glued properly. Shelterlogic is sending a replacement. To do the roof part correctly a broom would be helpful. That is my friends trick. You can even it out well with one. Expect to spend at least 3 hours on this and that is if you can get the augers in quickly. Each auger may take 10 minutes or more. Make sure you have the shed lined up well, but then you need to move the frame to do the augers. Putting the pole through the bottom after you have assembled the frame is a royal pain. You need to undo each screw, put it through and redo. Then line it all up once again. The brackets fall and a perfect line to start will need to be redone over and over. Add another 30 minutes to do this right. You also need to get the 30 inch augers. The 15 inch ones simply will not do the job. I would say 3 carpenters may be able to do this whole job in 2 hours. 3 normal people will take 3 to 4 hours, probably closer to 4. The augers also can be secured with electrical ties for an extra tight fit. 2 weeks in and my unit has not moved with pretty decent winds so far. I am hoping it weathers the winter just as well. You probably are not going to find a better shed for this price. The frame may outlast the other parts, it seems very sturdy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product--Company Needs an Overhaul This shed is sturdy and will no doubt stand up to the copious amounts of rain we get in the Northwest. !!!It would by no means stand up to snow!!! I was expecting missing parts when I got the shipment because of the reviews (thank you!). However, it was still disappointing to wait the five extra days before being able to put the shed together. The Shelter Logic Company was plenty accommodating in sending out the missing parts. They are obviously way too familiar with the situation. Imagine the money they could save if they had someone, say, count the pieces before they boxed them up and shipped them out! Anyway, it was easy enough to assemble, though time-consuming, and except for a few minor design flaws--there are bolts sticking our where the fabric can run over them and tear, and the fabric is not much thicker than a tarp--I can't complain about the shed itself. It should last 5-10 years on the bed of gravel I put it on.

The first thing that came out of the (poorly-packed) box was a large notice that read: THIS CANOPY IS NOT RATED FOR SNOW LOAD AND NOT RETURNABLE IF DAMAGED BY WEATHER. That makes the product unusable in half the country. The frame was far more flimsy than I imagined (with loose-fitting joints) and the shed was quite difficult to assembly (with inadequate instructions), having to remove already-installed tubes in order to hang the end panels and primary cover. There is nothing in the instructions to indicate which way the asymmetrical top frame elbows are to be installed. The cover does not fit the frame tightly, and the supplied auger-type anchors (which are described as "temporary") are useless in rocky ground. Overall, the shelter is poorly-designed, poorly made and apparently inadequate for year-round use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It takes a lot of patience to put one of these up The directions that came with the order confirmation were not even for the shelter I ordered. We didn't know they were wrong until we got the shelter. Fortunately I didn't print them. When we got the shelter the directions with it were hard to follow and some were even missing. Two hours to assemble this thing is a joke. Two days are more like it. If you put it together and it doesn't seem to be going well, something's wrong. You can't figure it out when all the numbers are covered up. The numbers don't show after you put it together. So we had to take apart the whole top to find out two tubes were swapped. UGH!!! It was in the area where the directions weren't there, so I guess my husband adlibbed. If I had to do it again I would write the number with a permanent marker on all parts before assembly. Another complaint is the nuts, bolts and washers were all just thrown in one bag. The bolts were in 3 sizes (1/8 " difference) you couldn't tell them apart unless you compared them to each other. They easily could have put them in separate bags.
