Does this work well with textured (spray-on) walls?
Given the low price may just buy it and try it.

Answer:
The Shur Line pads sold at home depot are all the same thickness and should cover textured walls. Take a look at the pads and see if the bristles are long enough for your wall's texture. I'd give it a shot.

Answer:
I don't believe it specifically advises against it, but I agree with a previous reply... very difficult to get enough paint loaded on the thin pad for textured walls, and if you do, it bleeds over onto the wheels, creating a messy line.

Answer:
Very difficult on textured walls. If the pad is not perfectly saturated with paint, then it bleeds all over the front wheels and through the plastic pad keeper. The swivel head is also a poor design when pushing up against flat surfaces, as it likes to go all over the place. Get the 500 model and skip this one..

Answer:
Yes it does, I have 2 one with retractable spacers(wheels) and one with non retractable spacers(wheels), I use them both on textured walls and ceilings, covers very good. Make sure you screet the pad after dipping in paint, cuts down on drippage. Oh and don't push too hard as you paint, has tendency to drip and get paint on wheels.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 130 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This thing is amazing. Huge time saver This tool is one of the only on the market that allows you to flick the wheel guards back and out of the way while you get paint on the pad. If you can't manage to get paint on there evenly, use a paint brush as needed. Once you figure out how to use this edger and keep paint off the top edge & wheels - you will be in painting heaven. I've used this on an extension rod for ceilings, corners of walls, and baseboards. I can do 3 feet of edging in 2 minutes with this tool. Flawless finish - use plenty of paint so you don't have to do a second coat. No tape needed. Worth the time to learn how to use and money well spent. April 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Time saver! We have vaulted ceilings and this helped us by not having to tape up the ceiling. I'm very happy I stumbled upon this item. Works great jus take your time. May 28, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 6.8 IN x 3 IN PRO PAINT EDGER East to use and good value. The rollers could be improved. May 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Edger, not so great user Easy to use, only issue I had was getting too much paint on the pad, then it runs, drips and makes a mess. Otherwise great product. May 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Too Horrible for Words! First let me say I have used the previous, less bells and whistle, version of this pad with great sucess. I can not say the same for this one the only thing this doesn't get paint on is what you are trying to paint ( in my case the edges of the ceiling. There is no way to properly load this pad with paint and have it not drip all over the place . The first time I just barely touched the surface of the paint pad, it didn't look like it had any paint on it at all, spent the next 10 minutes wiping blobs of paint of me and the walls, then tried dabbing the pad with a small amount of paint from a paint brush, same outcome. The paint didn't however, come out smoothly or cover the area I was trying to paint! I used the older version to paint a 12 cathederal ceiling on a pole several years ago and it was easy and perfect. This thing, wiggles and you have to turn it around and fuss with it to get it at the right angle to paint and then it moves if you apply any pressure. Buy the old type if you can still find it and run from this one, it doesn't save time as you will have to go back and do it again with a brush, will spend time cleaning up drips and possibly buying new carpeting if you haven't used a very thick drop cloth. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Results In short - it does not work! I painted 10 feet of ceiling edge and have 7 feet that need to be retouched. The gap provided by the rollers is next to zero, so any surface imperfection causes a problem. Any bubble of paint on the pad is transferred to the ceiling. Loading the pad causes paint to seep around the edges - after two or three times you need to take it apart, clean, and start over. Normally any ceiling edger will leave small strip of ceiling paint on the wall. That way you are looking at a clean, straight paint line instead of the variable joint between the wall and the ceiling. If you want a zero-tolerance edge, buy painters tape. If you want a clean line between the wall & the ceiling, buy something else. April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job The product worked as expected and the price was right. May 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Edger! This edger is exceptional no matter what position, texture of surface or edging area with or without trim. April 27, 2016
