Comfort Grip Corner Painter 8.25 in. use with Paint Edger Pad Refills is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Generally good coverage, Poor mount not useful, bad on uneven walls It was better than the average corner painter PROs: - covers well, including edges and corners - leaves a nice wide stripe of paint so rolling after edging is easy - covers even walls well CONS - pole mount feature makes it virtually impossible to control pressure or keep the painter on the contours of an uneven wall.... when on smooth even walls, it worked great - be attentive to any signs of dripping and be careful about applying too much pressure (esp when pole mounted) to prevent dripping I use the edging tool for corners, and don't use the pole mount feature due to lack of control. Both this and the edger (for me, a homeowner) exceed my skills with a brush.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it... Was told in store not to get this because not all inside corners are true and square. I got it anyway because it had a pole attachment and I have really tall walls. The sales associate was spot on... it didn't get all the way into the corner. As others have noted, once you load it with enough paint to get adequate coverage, the paint drips off the pad profusely. I ended up having to get up on a ladder and go over it all with a brush.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from With This and the Shur-Line Edger I Don't Need Tape When I was younger (and had the occasional bouts of insomnia) I remember watching an infomercial for similar paint pad products. I wound up watching it repeatedly. One day while I was picking up painting supplies I saw the Shur-Line Edger and Corner Painter and decided to give them a try because they were similar to the products I saw on the infomercial. I've been using them for years and love them for cutting in. Taping takes a long time and when I use these I don't have to worry about taping. I've used both the first corner painter and the premium corner painter. The edger saves more time than the corner painter (you don't need to tape inside corners) but I still find the corner painter helps speed up painting corners. More importantly for me it paints the corner better. Even if you're painting the corner with a brush you sometimes hit the opposite side you're painting with the side of the brush which leaves awkward brush marks. With the Shur-Line Corner Painter there are no brush marks. The trick to getting the most out of these Shur-Line tools is to know how to properly load them with paint. Once you get that down, and it's not that hard, you'll really appreciate them. Luckily I had instructions on how to load painting pads (in a British accent) drilled in my head from my sleepless nights watching infomercials. Start by filling the paint reservoir of a roller tray with 1/4" of paint. I don't like to have the paint too deep so I don't get paint on the edger's rollers. Dip the bristles of the edger in the paint making sure to not get paint on anything other than the bristles. Rub the bristles a little on the ridged portion of the roller tray to distribute the paint. This next part is the most important! Scrape the bristles across the edge of the paint tray to remove a lot of the paint. Use the edger to cut in around the ceiling and baseboards on the top and bottom of the corner. This is important because the corner painter doesn't have anything to prevent getting paint on ceiling or baseboad like the edger does. Load up the corner painter, one side at a time, like you did the edger. If it's hard to get the painter in the paint reservoir there is usually enough paint on the ridged area left over from loading the edger to load the corner painter. Place the corner painter about 1/3rd down from the ceiling and slide it up to the paint that was cut in with the edger and then slide it back down again. Repeat until you have the whole corner painted. When you're done with the corner, rotate the painter 90 deg so it's perpendicular with the corner and feather the outside edge of the cut by swiping the paint pad along it. You have to do this on each wall. If you have too much paint on the pad it will leave a ridge on the outside edge. Passing the paint pad over the edge smooths it out. This sounds like a lot to do but once you get the hang of it you'll realize it doesn't take that long and is very easy. If it does seem like too much you can also load up the paint pads using a brush. Just dip the brush into the paint and paint it on the pad. I've tried this and it works but I still prefer to just load up the paint pads directly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time I bought this thinking it would save me time. I ditched it for a brush after finishing the first room. I discovered that if I loaded too much paint on the corner edger, I ended up with a bead of paint on either side all the way down the wall, which I had to go over with a brush. Load too little paint, and you're stuck loading the edger up with paint dozens of times. I don't think I ever got it just right. You're better off just sticking with a brush on this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Right tool for the job I do a lot of painting, and edging & corner paint tools are a must-have amongst my supplies. This corner painter is well-made, sturdy, and has a spring between handle and brush that allows you to continue with a paint stroke as your angle changes without having to shift your grip around. I also appreciate the texture of the brush, which is softer than a bristle brush, so there is not an obvious difference between the main area (where a roller has been used), and the corners. This makes for a much more professional appearance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Corner painter I have only been able to test this one time but its intended use is appropriate. It cleaned up easy and was simple enough to use. I did find that you have to watch for drips when you first apply paint to it and before making contact to the wall. Given that I have only been able to use it one time I do not know how durable it is for continued use but will be giving it further use.
