I'm looking at a multi-family setup where many of the branch circuits are shared between several apartments and also there is no simple way to determine the return neutral for a given branch. Can I simply shut off all other breakers and examine each branch circuit by itself....to get a general sense of the arc fault condition. I recognize that this would miss any switched-off loads...but it would it would at least cover all the wiring up to those switches.

Answer:
Hi Dennis,
The application that you are describing should work fine and the Intelli-Arc would help you locate the arc fault in that branch circuit that you have turned on (if there is one).
