Customer Questions & Answers

can this product be used to insulate a garage

Was thinking of buying this and tacking to the inside of the garage to cover the complete garage door as an insulation barrier.
Asked by: Anonymous
It would probably help prevent air drafts if the sides were sealed properly but the odor that comes off this dropcoth will permeate your garage for weeks -- it's that strong.

Customer Reviews

11 ft. 6 in. x 14 ft. 6 in. Heavy Duty Butyl Drop Cloth is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I want to be positive but... The dropcloth's construction is great: strong, well-sewn seams and edges. Dimensions are accurate. The material has a cloth-like finish but "lays" and feels like plastic. The odor is a problem. We've been airing it out for over a week outside in our garage with doors open during the day and the chemical odor is finally starting to dissipate. But it's still problematic for us to bring it into the house to use as a floor covering in the room where we will be doing some messy work.
