When wrapped around a pipe, will these hold in place under varying pressure/movement?

We have a baseball 'rebounder' where our 10 year old throws a baseball against a net, connected to a frame with small bungees that allow the baseball to bounce off the net as the bungees help absorb the force of the baseball into the net and while keeping tension on the net in between throws.

So, these ball bungees would be wrapped around the tubular frame of the rebounder and the bungee would secure itself around its ball end. The ball bungee then, would experience some amount of flex or movement with each successful throw into the net, versus constant tension.

I'm wondering if these would hold themselves in place wrapped around the ball versus an actual hook.

It sounds like you have a great set up there, Tony. I really believe the ball bungees will do the trick, and last at least a year, if not years. There will come a time (at least 5+ years from now) when the bungee part of the ball bungee will, from normal wear and tear, begin to stretch out and begin to lose the support you wanted. You have 3 options: (1) Replace the ball bungee; (2) Replace the bungee part of the ball bungee (the stretchy portion); (3) Tie the stretchy bungee into a knot in a place that will not get in the way of looping the end of the bungee part around the ball. In doing this, you will take the slack out of the stretched-out bungee portion and, you will save a little money....and who doesn't wanna do that?! Read Less

Answer:
This Sigman 6 in. Tarp Ball Bungee might possibly work if the bungee is not loose, i.e. somewhat stretched, considering that these tarp ball bungees work very well with grommets or eyelets on tarps. But that's just a guess and you would have to test it out to see how well it actually works.

I, personally, would just call my Home Depot and ask to talk to someone that can help you find out if they stock them in-store or not. If not, then go online and order them. I hope it's as simple as I'm making it sound, as I'm not a Home Depot employee. I ordered mine online. Hope this helps you. Read Less

Is the six inches the total circumference of the loop, or is it the distance from the ball to the return (the "u-turn") of the bungee in its flattened out position (i. e. with both strands tightly parallel)?

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 35 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tarp ball bungees are a great product. These tarp ball bungees will last for years....longer, I'm sure, than the tarp I also bought to connect to my carport frame. Fortunately I ordered the correct size of ball bungees to go around the poles that make up the carport frame. I just measured how many inches around a pole was, and went from there. October 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good if you order the right size The product looked good but I ordered a size a little too small. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 6" Inch Tarp Ball Bungee (25) Shipped quickly. Works perfectly. Good and reliable. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Bungees Bought these for a tarp to cover a dog kennel. They worked perfect. August 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Bungees I was a little surprised by the length. I ordered 6 inch bungees and these are 6 inch overall, so 3 inches on a side. So, 6 inches doubled over, when I was expecting 6 inches on each side. They work fine for holding my canopy in place though, so no complaints. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very handy little bungees These little ball bungees are useful. No sharp hooks and no metal parts, so they will not damage the items you are fastening, and no rust over time. The are perfect for securing a tarp roof over our dog kennel. The elastic has just a bit of flex to help the tarp last a bit longer in windy conditions. They stay fastened well enough with tautness. You can also link multiples of them together to create a longer piece as needed. Handy for camping and in the home garage. I also used a few of these to fasten some rolled up small floor mats for neat organized storage. My Home Depot does not stock these in the store, but it was only a couple days to get them ordered online for store pickup. Good value for 25 in a pack. June 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bal Bungees I work for recreation at NBSD For years we have tried several ways of attaching the soccer nets to the goals. Nothing worked-- Velcro- electrical wire- plastic zip ties. I found a ball bungee cord and put it on the net- It worked! So I looked around several stores but no one carried them. So I went on line and found that Home Depot carried them in quantities that would be useful for my purpose. I ordered a bunch and put them on the soccer goals--- So far so good-- they do not come off like the rest of the things I tried. April 5, 2016
