2 inch shorter sawhourse - cut legs?

This question is from 29 in. Wooden Sawhorse

HI,

Can this wooden sawhorse have 2 inches cut off the legs to make it 27 inches tall instead of 29 inches tall? My Application would work much better at 27 inches. I'm building a desk and with the keyboard, 29 inches puts my arms and hands 34 inches high 8 hours per day, which is very difficult for me.

Answer:
Thank you for the question John. Since the legs are made of solid pine, one could cut them any length they desire. However, it is important to note they are a compound angle so you will have to mimic that. Using a skill saw can do this fairly easily.

Answer:
Thank you for the question. I think you are suggesting laying the kayak inside the legs? I guess you could do that but it would depend on the shape of the kayak? Hope this helps.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not tall enough had to add 2x4 inside legs to get to comfortable work height.....after looking at product construction, came to conclusion i'm in the wrong business....retail cost FAR exceeds cost to make.....somebody is making a killing building these..... November 26, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect combination of quality and price for homeowner! Didn't give this sawhorse five stars because it is not as rugged as one you might build yourself, or for long-term heavy-duty construction work. But it is great for general-purpose use for the typical homeowner. I first bought one--just like this one--well over ten years ago, which I've used for sawing, painting, or just bringing whatever project closer to waist level. Only reason I bought another set of this same item is that I needed an extra outdoor "work bench" for a new deck I'm building (the earlier sawhorses are in semi-retirement in the garage, holding up a stack of misc. lumber). Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for the cost I had almost decided to make a couple of sawhorses for my home workshop myself until I saw these on line. They are surprisingly well made considering the cost. I added a few screws to the joints just to make sure and lagged a sacrificial 2x4 to the top so I could change it later if needed. They certainly aren't commercial grade but for use in a home workshop and considering the price I can't imagine why anyone would complain. I really like them. August 19, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not as pictured or as described This appears to be a cheaper, higher profit substitute for the one pictured and described. Different manufacturer, too. The sawhorse in the picture is different from the ones I just bought at HD. There are no screws used in the construction of this sawhorse. Just staples and a little glue. There is also no " groove in the top board to accept a 2 x 4 on edge as a spoil board" as described on the page. I will probably end up building my own if I need more. July 10, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by these work I just bought a pair and they are great. great value / great price. I had an old pair that broke in a recent move, and they lasted about 10 years. March 23, 2010
