Answer:
Simtek supplies the screws - they're bright galvanized, I think. They're temporarily screwed into the bottom of the posts. You only need them on the corners and the gate posts. The heads are about 3/8" wide - you have to look for them to see them. You can choose which side to put them on, in case you really don't want to see them.

Answer:
Only the panels in the corners or ends really need screws. It ties your end or corner post via the panel to the 1st line post away from it. This helps to keep that end or corner post from trying to tip outward.
I used 1/4" self tapping screws (hex head) about 1 1/4" long on mine. I used two on one post, two on the other post. I put one towards the top and one towards the bottom.

Answer:
The panels slide into the posts and do not need screws. The post caps are pressure fitted making them secure, but if desired a 3'' screw can be inserted through the middle of the cap into the post.

Answer:
No, the panel comes alone. The run posts and end posts are about fifty bucks and the gate posts are about twice that.
You're going to spend more on this than on a white vinyl fence, but it's beautiful and you're going to look at it every day.

Can the panels be installed into the posts at a slight angle to enable a slight curve in the fence or must it be installed in straight lines?

I would like to get a slight bend/curve to the fence installation. That seems like it will depend on the depth of the groove and how tight the fit of the fence panel is in that groove.

must be installed in a straight line as there are metal supports in the panels that will prevent them from being bent.

Answer:
If you properly prepared the surface, I don't see why paint couldn't be used. You would need a good primer at a minimum, as well as a premium exterior paint. I wouldn't want to brush those panels - an airless sprayer would be the way to go.
The panels come in a choice of colors - I like them as is.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is a good-looking fence. This is not an inexpensive fence. I spent about $7500 to replace that awful wooden fence in the backyard. That being said, I shouldn't have to worry about this sucker for the length of the 25 year guarantee (at that point, I won't care). I have never installed a fence before, but by watching the mfgr's videos and only doing a few posts at a time (generally before breakfast - it gets hot here in Florida) - it turned out really well. If you use a string to keep things in line and a level to make sure the post points straight up, and you should be OK. For some reason, the post level that I bought for the job didn't work very well - I think that the steel-reinforced foam posts vary a little in spots. A regular 24" level got the job done. I used between two and three bags of concrete in each hand-dug hole, mixing it in a wheelbarrow first (we have hurricanes occasionally) and I feel confident that this fence should hold together. Everyone that has seen it compliments me on the looks. The gates are stupid expensive (I bought three of them), but they're rugged and have plenty of adjustment. I also like that you can adjust the panel height if necessary after the posts are in. We had to do that on a couple of panels. All in all, if you're careful when you assemble it, you should have a beautiful fence that'll last a long time. June 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Fencing! This fence is the best we have ever seen. It is beautiful, and excellent quality. Once the posts are in, the panels just slide in place. We are so pleased that we got this fence, and it will be perfect for us for the rest of our lives. October 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ecostone panels, good but some thin spots I really like the look of these panels. it is something different you don't usually see. they are easy to cut if needed. you will need a metal cutting saw/tool to cut down the supports. my only issue with these panels is i wish they were just a little bit thicker. looking at them with the sun behind them, i can see some thin spots in the panels. once you have your posts set, the panels drop in pretty fast with a helper. i put in 12 panels in less than 1 hour. make sure you read the instructions thoroughly and you won't have any trouble. one of my panels arrived without the steel supports. home depot contacted simtek and had them in a few days. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We love our new "wall"! We are very pleased with our Simtek purchase. The panels are very sturdy and will last a long time. I highly recommend this product! June 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Product. Great Company support and 25 year warranty! Features Galore! Excellent quality. Very Beautiful Fence. Chose it over cedar replacement because of the ease of care in the coming years. Read about and loved the features promised! Looks awesome around our yard. In deciding on the color we contacted Simtek and spoke with the Texas rep. Kevin. He was wonderful, sent us great samples and helped with answers to our many questions. Then after installation we received a call from Adam, he was also very helpful. We are confident we have chosen the best possible fence with a company that offers a 25 year warranty. Its worth the investment for us, as we wanted low maintenance and longevity in the product, July 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fence We used this fence around our new pool with a cement walk around. 50x60' it was expensive, but we wanted something that not only looked nice but was sturdy enough to stand up against wind and any rocks a mower might throw. It takes a little figuring out the different patterns so that you can alternate the two different patterns so it isn't the same rock formations side by side and you also need to watch both sides. We used a forklift to raise the panels to start them in the post to slide them down if you keep them level and wiggle them a little they slide right in. I'm only 5'2" so doing the guiding was a little difficult for me then our taller stronger son in law came and between the forklift and him the installation went really fast and easy. The panels are lightweight but if there's any wind it makes handling them a little tricky. I could turn them easy. The main thing is to get the posts in exact and level. Be sure to allow for the indent to indent in your measurement to get a good fit. We used mixed bags of cement and poured in the hole after post was in and continued to measure and level until packed in and not moving. Taking your time to do all the leveling and measuring will pay off when installing the panels! You can cut the panels to fit a short end or exact length. Gates and post are expensive. Hoping it will last for a long time. We probably spent $10,000 on the entire fence posts and only one gate. Tan in color matched our house siding almost perfect. Wish they'd offer a multi color to make they stones different or have the mortar a different color than stone just to mak a realistic look. The one color looks great though especially once you put some plantings and shrubs in. December 28, 2015
