I used this stuff without and with a pressure washer. The instructions ask you to spray it on then use a pressure washer. I sprayed it on and used a pressure washer and it did very little in regards to dirt removal. If you spray it on, then use a scrub broom or brush, it will work. So, this little experiment tells me the pressure washer does the work. In reality, a pressure washer will clean most anything without an additive soap.

Simple Green makes a great line of products for those of us who prefer to be a bit more gentle on the environment. The aroma is pleasant and it works as well as any other siding cleaner with a pressure washer. We used it on painted cedar siding and it took away a fair amount of Winter's dirt. For more stubborn areas spray and leave it for a few minutes before washing off. Concentrate goes a ways so it's an econmical way of Spring cleaning the exterior of you home and outside buildings. Much faster and easier than new paint.

The house needed a bath. We wanted a product that would be easy and quick to use. We wanted to beat the oncoming winter (we are in the mid-Atlantic). The product is a good one. The house looks white again, rather than a dull, dusty grey. That is the house had not been bathed in a few years, and the nearby trees and shrubs seemed to leave a lot of dust and pollen on the house. We're pleased with the product and plan to use it again. We're not sure how often we'll want to use it yet. We plan to do more research to learn about the proper frequency (fairly new vinyl siding).

This product got most of the dirt and stains off vinyl siding, but left some blobs of dirt intact. It took Goof Off wipes to loosen the dirt blobs which is an indicator of how tenacious the dirt was. It's too soon to assess whether it was harmless to the vegetation. I used approximately half a bottle to wash a small 24 x 48 foot bi-level house, but this was just using the default mix ratio of the pressure washer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hpiguy Great at cleaning dark stains off white vinyl siding!
I used this cleaner in my pressure washer to remove the mold like staining on the North side of my house and to surface clean the entire rest of the house.
One bottle did nearly the entire house (two story, four bedroom) when used in my pressure washer which dilutes it automatically. I ran out just short of completing all the sides from the eaves to the foundation.
I applied the soap through the pressure washer as directed from top of the house to the bottom, let it sit for a few minutes and then washed it off. Without scrubbing it took almost all of the darker mold and bug stains off the white vinyl siding. I used a scrub brush to remove the deep stains and the cleaner worked fine that way as well.
You don't need a pressure washer to use it, you can go the brush and bucket method for spot cleaning, but it is pressure washer pump safe if you have one available to use.
When I was done, the white vinyl siding looked nearly brand new.
I am very pleased and will use this cleaner from now on. I get a lot of mold-like staining on the North wall of my house and the South side gets a lot of bugs which leave their brownish stains as well.
Make sure to cover any sensitive plants while using the soap and rinsing it off. Also, it's a good idea to wear goggles if you are going to be spraying this overhead or anywhere it can splash back. You don't want this in your eyes.
A gallon for nearly an entire medium sized two story house is a very good deal.

I usually like Simple Green products but not overly impressed with this one. I wanted to use a cleaner that wouldn't be so harsh to protect plants, scrubs and be environmentally friendly . I didn't have a power washer so I used it with a bottle that attaches to the hose and mixes it with water. I had to brush the house to get some of the dirt off. This product was just OK.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by tksamtec pass on this, use JoMax instead.
I bought this as an alternative to some of the other harsher cleaners that use bleach, which are not recommended for use in pressure washers (apparently bleach destroys the pump seals on the cheaper pressure washers that don't have a bypass option). Well, without the bleach and harsher chemical mixtures, your only option to get good results with this item is to scrub !!! This stuff, when mixed properly, does nothing for black streaks on gutters or white vinyl siding, which I had. So, for the cost, this Simple Green siding cleaner was close to worthless to me, as I used over half the bottle on the back side of my home, with minimal results (6 total applications). For better results, I would suggest taking a little extra time, and use JoMax (a Rustoleum product), or something similar, which requires mixing with chlorine bleach. I spray the mixed JoMax on with a cheapo garden sprayer first, and I coat what I can, let it sit for a few minutes (5-10), then rinse off with my pressure washer (2700 psi)... works better than this Simple Green stuff ever will, and it won't harm your pressure washer if you spray it using a garden sprayer.... and you don't have to scrub your guts out to get decent results. I used JoMax on my house, gutters, vinyl fence, etc... with great results. If its really hot and sunny, just be sure to spray your grass and shrubbery, so the JoMax/bleach won't burn things out, and be careful if you are working above, to avoid getting it in your eyes. In the end, you will save hours of time using something other than the SImple Green because you won't have to scrub or was things multiple times.
The fence wash product Simple Green makes is pretty lousy too. I felt both were a waste of my valuable time and money and had I not used so much of each in my failed attempt to clean my house, siding and fencing, I would return them.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Takes the chore out of pressure washing
I've been using the Simple Green House and Siding Cleaner now for about 3 years. Prior to that, I've pretty much tried everything out there made for pressure washing the vinyl siding on my home. Some of these cleaners were either diluted dish soap, or the chemical composition was way too strong effecting the color.
It wasn't rocket science...All I wanted was something to connect to my pressure washer and actually do what it claims to do, which is to help me minimize the chore of cleaning my siding.
This Simple Green cleaner is the best one I've found out there. It actually works. Some things to keep in mind is to not let it dry before you spray it off. To do that, just apply it in small enough sections where you can rinse it off. If it drys, it will have a tendency to have somewhat of a white soap film which will take some attention to completely remove...So, just spray in small sections, and you'll be all set.
Great product, price, and quality. Well worth your trying it out.
