I previously used another nationally known product but was becoming disappointed in that product's ability to get rid of some spots I had encountered so, having been pleased with other Simple Green products, I thought I'd give their carpet cleaner a try. I am using this product as a carpet spot cleaner rather than a whole carpet cleaner. As indicated on the bottle, it can be used in carpet cleaning. As well as it's working on the spots I've tried it on I believe I'll try it in a machine.
What I've experienced thus far is, it removed red wine spots and tomato based food stain spilled on my off white berber carpet. And on my off white pile carpet it removed red wine spots, coffee spots and pet fluid stains (my dog threw up). I only had to try once to get these stains out.
The product, not only highly effective also smells great.
The product can be used on water safe carpets and upholstery.
Directions are outlined clearly on the label and easy to follow.
Definitely a product to stick with.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JoeSeattle Great for the car
I gave this a decent review earlier for use in the house but I just used it to clean my car and it is fantastic. After vacuuming the car I still had lots of brown dirt stains on the carpet plus one big motor oil stain from about 10 years earlier that I could not get out with the a can of carpet shampoo for the car. The simple Green got rid of all of the stains. Even the oil stain. My interior looks brand new.
I am not a detail expert but here is my process that works pretty well:
2. wipe down any dirty surface with a clean wet white towel. Often water is all you need.
3. spray any surface still dirty with Simple green and let sit for five minutes (after you determined the surfaces are color safe
4. wipe down surface again with the clean white towel or rag. Use a scrub brush on the thicker carpet nap
5. Hose down any removable carpets mats. (outside of the car). car washes are great for this if they have the hanging clips. You could pretreat at home then do the rinse at the car wash.
6. for seats and other upholstery use a wet dry shop vac to suck up water as you scrub or wipe down the surface with a wet towel.
7. repeat steps 3 through six if needed. Often a second application even a few weeks apart makes a big difference.

We have light color wall to wall carpet. We go through a lot of spot removers in our house. This is by far the best stain remover I have ever used, it gets out even the toughest stains.
And the fact that it's natural and non-toxic is a plus. For carpet and upholstery, you simply cannot do any better. This leaves no residue, faint haze or smell. I have used this product on old stains and it even gets those out. I have yet to encounter something this product was not able to remove.

This carpet cleaner from simple green has their unique fresh scent to it. Sprays out nicely from the bottle in a light foam. Very easy to use. Will not take out food coloring type stains. Used on a throw rug to remove some grease stains. Worked very well. Also used on those typical dark spots you get on your carpets. Removed those as well. Just spray on and rub with a slightly damp cloth.

This cleans away dirt and stains on upholstery very well. For stubborn set in stains (think wine or red juice), it can be tough even with an effective stain remover like this. I find that this is great at removing dirt that builds up naturally over time. The 22 ounce spray bottle makes spot cleaning very easy. This product is not ideal for cleaning your entire couch or floor, but those stubborn stains and high traffic area are easily tackled with this cleaner.

EVERY TIME I use a Simple Green product I'm impressed. Original SG is an amazing general purpose cleaner. My wife swears by the SG Natural bathroom cleaner - she says it's the only one that doesn't give her lungs chemical burns.
So, when we saw this we thought we would give it a shot - and we're impressed. I used it on day one to lift what was left of a doggy doo-doo stain that a different carpet cleaner left behind. I would guess that stain was about 3 weeks old.
My wife used it a few days later on a coffee spill that was about 2 minutes old and there is zero evidence of a spill.
It applies just like all the other carpet cleaners. Spray on, bloat out, dry, vacuum. The difference is, this one works!

Simple Green Carpet Cleaner works great. We have Berber carpeting in our home. Though our cats are very neat and tidy, occasionally they have an accident (darn hair balls) That's when I break out the Simple Green. I treat the spot as directed on the label. A few sprays, gently work the cleaner into the soiled area then blot with a clean dry towel and the stain is gone. So far I have only had to do one application for any of the spots, if the first try leaves a slight stain another application may be necessary. Remember to vacuum the area when completely dry. Though I haven't had a need, it is good to know that you can use Simple Green in your carpet cleaning machine in place of other cleaning products. I particularly appreciate the pleasant scent from the Simple Green, it leaves the carpet smelling fresh.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mark Good on spots, ok on set-in stains
As a spot cleaner, this product works well if you immediately blot the stain and use the product. For use on set in stains from high traffic use I was only able to use the product with a carpet brush. With that method, there was some improvement after using the brush and vacuuming, but not significant. The instructions indicate you could use this cleaner with a steam cleaner type of machine, however I did not have a machine to test how effective that method would be.
