Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it! We love this cabinet. It was much better quality than expected for the price and the color is very nice. We had almost no trouble putting this piece together. Nothing warped, missing, or broken. The only issue we had was with the backing. The boards were just slightly too narrow, but it was easy enough to resolve. We left a small gap between the two backing boards behind the center column to hide the gap. This made the holes for the screws too big, so we put the screws in the small gap slightly above the holes so they could catch the boards and hold them in place. Overall it came together very easily and nicely. Looks great! April 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This product is perfect for storage. This was the perfect storage for my husband's coin books. It was delivered on time and in good condition. November 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Would purchase more from this line I bought this RTA unit on sale for $179.00 In October 2012. It is a great value for that price! I would not pay regular price of $349.99. I am not awesome at RTA units as I am a step-by-step, need a detailed manual for these assemblies. Because the instructions are not detailed enough (for me), I had to disassemble the unit a few times to get it right. The shelves need to hit flush against the back panel, not the doors. I had never dealt with camlocks before so those were a chore (for me). Getting one door flush and level with the other with the magnet catching the doors was difficult for me also. Still not perfect which has me annoyed. This unit is spacious, functional and attractive especially for under $200.00. I would purchase another cabinet in a lighter colour for the spare room if I see it on sale again. Everyone comments on what a nice piece it is in my front room. With the money I saved I will buy me/marry me an expert RTAer to help next time :) Definitely recommend! April 14, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth it I recently bought this item online. Even with the reviews about spotty instructions I decided to buy it because I liked the unit. I do have experience in putting together RTA items and found it easy to follow. I did put it together myself. I did noticed the molding for the top had come off and a nail where the molding was nailed to the top had scratched one of the shelves. I contacted Simpli Home as the instructions are very clear if something is missing or damaged not to return it to the store but to contact Simpli Home. I was told to contact Home Depot to have it returned or replaced. Considering you can only buy this item online in Canada, I wasn't about to haul this back to Home Depot. I glued the molding back and for the scratch, I place something over it. The right side door, the holes to hold the door to the unit is off by 1/4 inch so the door catches on top when opening. I can fix this when I have a chance. One of the screws to hold the top down to the sides of the unit, there is a small piece of metal in the Allen key hole screw but again when I have a chance will drill the metal out so I can screw that screw in, but why do I have to? Because Simli Home refused to fix their problem instead they dumped the matter onto Home Depot's lap. As far as Simli Home is, stay away from that company as customer service are not helpful. Lucky for me the issues were minor and I can fix them but don't waste your time or energy on any product from this company. October 23, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by meh I waited a year for this item to be restocked at my local store and now I'm kicking myself. I really liked the look and it matched my decor perfectly but is of average (at best) quality for the price. I'm lucky that I am picky and had planned to use a quality adhesive along with the hardware. The hardware is JUNK, I was careful and still broke two camlocks while tightening. The doors are both slightly warped and the magnetic clasps are not strong enough to hold the keeps swinging open and I will have to install something else to keep it shut. Not worth $200 in my opinion. September 3, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Value I just bought and assembled this unit and as far as I am concerned it is great value for the price. Solid wood and no particle board or pressed board backer. The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 is that the instructions are not nearly detailed enough. I had a huge problem with the doors and the shelves until I realized that I had the top on backwards. On reflection the floor model in the store was put together incorrectly with the shelves against the doors rather than the back of the cabinet. It looks great in our TV room! September 2, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poorly Constructed I have seen this unit in the store a few times and really like the look of it but was hesitant to buy it due to the fact that it was furniture that needed to be assembled. I finally decided to go ahead. Most of it went together fine but after installing the doors I find that they are both so warped that they will not close. Magnets won't hold them closed. Terrible product. December 28, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poorly built, required customization My wife and I received this as a gift. When I went to the store waiting on delivery, I found it was poorly put together. Upon opening the box, and attempting step #1 I found all the holes for the camlocks missing. Luckily I've done cabinet making in the past and was able to add these holes. The back panel is not quite long enough to be installed as per directions, and the center support had to be installed backwards as to the directions, but of course you dont find this out until you go to install the shelves. But you cant just turn the board around at this point, you've already drilled holes in it attaching the back panel, so I decided to just drill new holes for the shelf supports. when I marked where I wanted the new holes to go, I found that the holes were originally there in the first place, and had been covered in putty and moved. Overall, if you dont know how to edit poorly designed/built furniture, I wouldnt suggest buying this product November 20, 2011
