Customer Questions & Answers

What is the country of origin of this carpet?

Asked by: Tom

How would you bridge the crease between living room and Kitchen tile?

I'm looking to replace my current carpet as the tack board can be felt when walking from the living room the kitchen and the carpet is about 8 years old. I'm impressed with the reviews of this product but how do you ease the transition from one floor to the other with this product? Is it just put down with adhesive for the edge or what would be the options to tack it down?
Asked by: RMeeks
The carpet tile is self stick. I don't know if you would need to put down anything else on the floor at the transition point. It would depend on the difference in the two heights between the materials. You could use some double sided carpet tape if you thought it would hold down the carpet better. But basically you will have to experiment with different stuff to see what works best for your application. Start by trying just the tile first. Then tape, edging, glue, etc. Do the least sticky thing first then work your way up. You might get away with just thin setting the transition to make up the difference and putting the carpet down. Every installation is an experiment until you find something that works for your application. Just try it and see what you can do to make it work for you. Good Luck

That is 224 square feet. Each box is 40 square feet. so you would need 6 boxes and you would have some tile to spare.

simply seamless carpet tiles

I am interested in buying this carpet for a bedroom but they don't carry this line in the stores. Are there samples available for purchase for this line of tiles so I can see true colors?
Asked by: Footek

Can I use these tiles on stairs?

Asked by: ccmcd
I would say yes. But they are a little stiff to bend around the edges. I would recommend tacking them down or adding additional glue on the steps to insure that they stay put. You don't want them coming off while someone goes down the steps. Your bank account and insurance company would not be pleased.

Serenity Milk and Cookies Texture 24 in. x 24 in. Residential Carpet Tile (10 Tiles/Case) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 385.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely amazing!!! We were looking for an affordable flooring alternative for our daughters bedroom after she left for college. Her room was a converted attic space and is not heavy traffic. My husband was not a fan at first and thought we would be wasting our money, but I convinced him to trust me. I followed the instructions meticulously and installation went quickly and easily! It's been nearly 2 years and the carpet looks like it was installed yesterday! We have had many guests use the room and they all comment on how great the carpet looks and feels, and several have used it in their own homes! KICKER...I even used it on the stairs! The stairwell was very dark and dreary and we added a knee wall at the top, which made them even darker. I did use double-sided carpet tape where the rise met run of the steps (both on rise and tread) as well as under the bullnose edge...and they have NOT MOVED at all! They have held up incredibly well! Thank you for offering such a fantastic and affordable option!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Perfect I am disabled and on a fixed income. The carpet in the bedroom absolutely had to be replaced and this was the ideal product. I ordered on-line and the tiles were delivered to my door. I was able to lay them myself at my own pace over the course of 1 week. I am very pleased with the results.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I must say this product is quite unique. I Really like the feel and look of it. It doesn't look o... I must say this product is quite unique. I Really like the feel and look of it. It doesn't look or feel cheap at all - the installation is fairly simply although the box doesn't come with instructions. I had never laid tile or anything like this so I didn't know how to go about it. Using something I found online led me to start in the dead center of my room which caused me a huge problem. However, the main problem is the stick back on this product DOES NOT WORK. When I first removed a tile from the box, peeled the backing, touched it and it felt barely sticky at all, I knew there was a problem. I opened a second box and found the same...and again a third box. I assumed maybe this was normal. It installed okay and looks great, however the tile is not stuck to the floor but in a few places. There is an issue with the adhesive in production. Worse - Home Depot would not do anything but direct me to Berkshire flooring warranty claim - and they have been unresponsive. I am still awaiting a response from them. I really like this, but at this point my floor needs to be completely redone a) due to non stick b) no installation instructions I needed to start at a different point. Very upset as I had a set budget. Buyer beware.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Order all you need at one time We purchased five boxes to cover one bedroom. We watched a video from the manufacturer on how to install. In the video, they illustrated to start in the middle of the room. Which we mistakenly did. After installing from the middle of the room outward, we discovered it would have been better to install from one side of the room to the other. It seemed like installing it middle outward ended up in a lot of waste. Installation was easy enough, but almost a two person job. My husband and teenage daughter installed it together. The preparation, tearing out old carpet and cleaning sub-flooring, was the most time consuming. We ran out of carpet and couldn't finish. I don't really know what happened, it should have been enough by my calculations, but it wasn't. I ordered another box and when that box came, the color did not match. It was the supposed to be the same, but it was slightly different and the texture was also different. In addition, three of the tiles came with glue on the carpet side of them, which would have been a deal breaker. However, we needed to trim pieces anyway, but had we not needed to trim them, I would have been very upset. The carpet looks good, but you can see seams. The color is a nice tan color and I think it will be okay as far as wear and showing dirt. It is a million times better than what we had, or I wouldn't be incredibly happy with it. It was a fairly quick project, about six hours total from start to finish for one bedroom. The biggest job was pulling out the old carpet and staples and cleaning up the sub floor. Actually putting in the carpet tiles was fairly quick and simple. I liked it enough that I am planning on purchasing more of the same color for another bedroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!! Let me say that I was a carpet install virgin, but figured I'd give these tiles a go. I ripped up the carpet in my daughters old room (mainly a toy room for grandkid now), painted, and put these in myself. And I love them! Read many of the reviews here before purchasing and found some helpful hints: all arrows on the bottom in same direction and trying to keep the carpet fibers from in between tiles to avoid lines (I tried). You can see a line or two where the tiles come together in a couple of spots, but not many and not horrible, disappears with vacuuming. I had to cut a few to fit, but easy enough. My mother came by and was really impressed with the quality and the look. They've only been in for about a week so we'll see how they hold up, but I did make sure to get enough so I'd have extra tiles should any need to be replaced over time. I swear I'm thinking of doing another room in these, they really look great and it was not that difficult for me to do :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install and look great We got these tiles for a basement bedroom that had such a terrible cold floor in the winter. A little expensive but probably still cheaper than professional carpet install, and you can do it yourself even with no experience. My husband laid them himself in only a few hours. Just make sure all the arrows on the backs are going the same direction and that no fibers are trapped between each tile and they will look seamless! Ours look great and feel much nicer than the hard, cold laminate underneath. Fairly easy to cut to size around closet and door openings. I think we will do these for our other bedroom and hallway as well! Really couldn't be happier with them; the room feels transformed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from poor quality I put these over oak flooring and within 9 months there is a steady amount of carpet threads present daily as these carpet squares come apart. Now after this time on the floor one can see the white backing on the corners of the outer squares. A frustratingly expensive bad decision on my part. On an aside, I placed some Legato squares (equally expensive) also plush carpeting and they are holding up very well. Also placed around 9 months ago. Got those at Menards. The ones that are coming apart were purchase at Home Depot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it but this lot seems to have some manufacturer issues This is the third time we have purchased this product. We are slowly replacing old flooring throughout the house. The past two purchases/installations were great. This time the carpet seems to have some issues with loose carpet on one of the edges that pulls out very easily during installation leaving bare spots right at the seams. Our other boxes didn't have this trouble. We love this stuff because it is inexpensive and so easy to install. It is not the highest quality and looses it's cush after a while, but we didn't have high expectations to start with given the cost. Photo shows our old installation (+2 years) and our newest installation from last week.
