Easy to install.I followed the arrows on the back of each tile. But unfortunately one box of the carpet tiles isn't the same as the others, the fibers are longer or something. Now unless I pull it up and spend the money for more tiles I have a stripe in the center of the room.

I have purchased these carpet squares to replace the wall to wall carpet in our two bedrooms. Installation was easy and cutting the odd sized pieces was simple as long as the measurements were accurate. After installation, the carpet is beautiful! Sometimes some of the seams are visible, but can be easily hidden by running the vacuum cleaner. Since my installations are in the bedrooms, it doesn't bother me seeing a seam once in a while. Overall we are very pleased with the look, the value for the price and the ease of installation.

The idea of perfectly seamless tiles is a paradox really. With traditional carpet squares you normally alternate the pattern simply as a method of providing depth and interest to something that really can't be seamless, but in theory the pile on these tiles is supposed to make that a thing of the past. The problem, though, is getting these to line up perfectly square and tight. It takes a lot of patience and the willingness to occasionally have to pull up a tile that was not perfectly and precisely snug. Despite my efforts, I still see the occasional seams.
Seams aren't my real gripe though---durability is. 6 months on I'm seeing very obvious wear paths in the carpet. This has about the same level of crushing as the cheapest builder's grade carpet out there. And then there's the peeling! I'm not talking about the tile itself peeling up from the floor, but rather the carpet itself peeling up from the padding. This is especially true where corners happen to meet, and God forbid there's ever any kind of spill because any left over moisture obviously weakens the cheap adhesive that bonds the carpet to the backing.
Final verdict: I'm going to soon replace with the traditional low pile commercial tiles you might find in an office, library, etc.

I love these tiles! I got the Mountain Mist color. The pictures on the site look like the tiles are a solid color, but they are actually speckled. They were so easy to put down and they look wonderful in my basement! You can't expect them to feel like a plush, padded carpet because they aren't. The padding is only about 1/4" thick, but they are perfect for basements! The seams are barely visible. We noticed that they seemed to be more visible when we weren't careful about getting the carpet fibers out of the way before putting the next tile down. It took us about 5 hours to do 500 square feet, start to finish.

Bought to do a bedroom. I'm a 67 year old woman & had no problem laying it. You do not see the seams, BUT you must lay it to match the seams. Glad it's not super sticky as I had to pull some up. It gradually sticks more with traffic. I was short two tiles & had to buy an additional box. Wish they sold samples. At least I know if I spill something or the dog has an accident, I have enough to replace area or switch with another tile in an unseen corner.

Three years ago when we decided to replace our floors I looking into have cheap carpet put in, but with 2 kids and 2 dogs I thought these would be perfect. Get a stain that wont come out, rip up that tile and put a new one down without having to replace the entire carpet. I was very happy with the installation and the way it looked for some time.
Now, 3 years and 2 weeks later, we are renovating our house once again, and there were a few tiles I decided I should replace. Unfortunately seeing the 3 year old tiles next to new tiles makes me realize how horribly these have worn. They look lifeless and stringy, no pad left to them. Of course this is just a few weeks after the 3 year wear warranty expired, I should have thought about it before it did.
Very disappointed in how they held up in just 3 years (even in places like under the dining room table that doesn't get used that often) and wished I would have gone with something else.

If you take your time to really set the tiles snugly, you will achieve a pretty seamless effect. However, the tiles varied in size just enough to throw off the smoothness of the line created by the tiles in a row. Some trimming or careful selection is needed. Once installed, the result is worth the extra time in planning.

My boyfriend and I purchased a box of these carpet tiles before going ahead and ordering 1,000 sf of it. We decided to use carpet tiles so we could install portions of it at a time without having to move and store all of our furniture in a storage unit. We are very glad we only bought one box - the color is not what we were expecting. The yarn is multiple contrasting colors with shades of beige, dark brown and black. Attached are two pictures. The weight of the carpet seemed adequate for an inexpensive carpet tile and the carpet was quite soft. We are returning the box and will have to re-evaluate our options. Since we did not install it, I did not rate respond to those questions.
