Product Overview

Berkshire Flooring Carpet Tiles are the softest carpet tile available on the market today. They are manufactured to allow for a broadloom appearance once installed. The Tranquility Style is available in multiple colors that can be mixed and matched to your liking, allowing you to be as creative as you want or they can be installed all in one color. The tiles are 24 in. x 24 in. and come with a pre-applied pressure sensitive adhesive so you simply peel and stick them to the floor. Installation is easy, the only tools that you need are a square, a tape measure and a carpet knife. The carpet is made from solution dyed continuous filament PermaClean fiber which is inherently stain and wear resistant. The carpet tile has an attached high density cushion. All Berkshire Flooring carpet tiles are environmentally friendly and carpet tiles reduce waste by 15-20% compared with broadloom carpet. You will love that they are easy to handle and that they are the no glue, no tacks, no tapes, no odor way to a simply beautiful floor.

Answer:
Absolutely! That is exactly what we did. We took a carpet cleaner to the cement floor to wash it thoroughly, then dried it completely before we applied them. We love the result! Everyone keeps telling us how amazed they are that these are carpet squares. The carpet pad that is part of the square is also very nice.

As long as the concrete floor is sealed, clean, and level, then you can easily install this carpet tile over it.

We have carpet tiles now as an area rug, but they are not peel and stick, just a special rubber backing so they do not slide.

Answer:
I wouldn't recommend these as an area rug. After a while I think the threads on the end will come apart and the sides aren't very pretty if you have to cut them. The adhesive would probably come off of the wood floor depending on what cleaners you can use on your floors.

You can make a rug from stock or special order carpeting that can be bound to create a finished edge; a Flooring Specialist from the local store can assist you with the options available in your area. Consider using a carpet pad under the rug to prevent any scratching from the carpet backing onto the wood floor.

Answer:
Hi Resa, your minimum is 6 cases. You have 247 sq. ft. of area. Each case has 40 sq.ft. So divide 247 by 40 = 6.175 cases. So you should buy 7 cases so you will have extra for any cuts you need and any future replacements. Also that way all the tiles will be from the same lot batch and color batch.

Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot, Chan. This carpet tile is only available in select Home Depot stores and not online. You will need to consult with a Flooring expert in your local Home Depot to go over pricing and availability. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Couldn't be happier! I bought this carpet because it was one of the few neutral colored, in-stock carpet tile selections in town. Based off of the one review on this site I was willing to give it a try. Like the last reviewer said they have decided to use it in other places of their basement because they are so happy with it...so are we. We are going to do a bedroom in the same product. My husband just cuts the size he needs, a little added pressure and it is secure. Don't push the carpet squares too close together so you don't create a bubble, but you can fix it easily if you do. Great product, love how it has transformed one of the rooms in my basement and I will be buying more. April 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Much Better than Expected I purchased these carpet tiles at my local Home Depot store for recarpeting my hallway, which is very small, as a test. My reno budget is pretty tight so I needed a less expensive alternative to traditional carpet installation. I read the positive reviews of other Seamless carpet products so decided to give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised. The installation, including removing base molding and old flooring, only took me about 4 hours to complete. The tiles really do look seamless, as I was careful to make sure everything was going in the right direction. One tile out of the two boxes I used had the arrow on the back in the wrong direction but I had placed the tiles before removing the backing so it was an easy fix to rotate. I also had to make sure when lining up the the tiles that the carpet fibers were all pointing up so that they didn't fold under the edges. A couple of times, the fibers folded under so the seams were clearly visible but since the backing wasn't super sticky, pulling them up to move the fibers was simple. The padding isn't very thick but it is still comfortable to walk on. There was a dramatic difference between the thinly padded tiles and the laminate wood flooring so the tiles feel much cushier. One last thing I'd like to mention is that the actual color or the carpet is about half as dark as in the picture. I was hesitant to order off the website because of how dark it looked, but in person it's no where near as dark. Overall, I think it's great. The kids love it, I love it and I am thinking of doing bedroom floors with these tiles perhaps with a little additional carpet padding and some adhesive to make sure everything stays put. No problems with the sticking at this point, just that the bedrooms will be higher-traffic areas. June 23, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great solution We recently finished our basement and wanted carpet, but worried at some point water may be an issue. The squares allowed ease of installation and we bought an extra box just in case. The nice thing about the squares is that you only replace what you need. We installed them in our theater 1 1/2 years ago and it still looks like new. We will use it in the rest of the basement rooms as we finish. The installation was simple as stated. although the seams basically disappear, they are still visible, but very slightly. We love this product. April 22, 2014
