Product Overview

Berkshire Flooring Carpet Tiles are the softest carpet tile available on the market today. They are manufactured to allow for a broadloom appearance once installed. The Tranquility Style is available in multiple colors that can be mixed and matched to your liking, allowing you to be as creative as you want or they can be installed all in one color. The tiles are 24 in. x 24 in. and come with a pre-applied pressure sensitive adhesive so you simply peel and stick them to the floor. Installation is easy, the only tools that you need are a square, a tape measure and a carpet knife. The carpet is made from solution dyed continuous filament PermaClean fiber which is inherently stain and wear resistant. The carpet tile has an attached high density cushion. All Berkshire Flooring carpet tiles are environmentally friendly and carpet tiles reduce waste by 15-20% compared with broadloom carpet. You will love that they are easy to handle and that they are the no glue, no tacks, no tapes, no odor way to a simply beautiful floor.

I want to use these on a covered, screened porch. When I looked at them in the store, the clerk told me they would mildew.

The tiles would be installed over 2 x 6's. I have never had carpet mildew out there for 25 years.

Answer:
Howdy Cathouser,
Like any carpet, mildew could be a real problem. Since these carpet tiles are rated for indoors, they would hold moisture for extended periods and mildew could result.
Using outdoor carpet tiles is a wiser choice.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely amazing!!! We were looking for an affordable flooring alternative for our daughters bedroom after she left for college. Her room was a converted attic space and is not heavy traffic. My husband was not a fan at first and thought we would be wasting our money, but I convinced him to trust me. I followed the instructions meticulously and installation went quickly and easily! It's been nearly 2 years and the carpet looks like it was installed yesterday! We have had many guests use the room and they all comment on how great the carpet looks and feels, and several have used it in their own homes! KICKER...I even used it on the stairs! The stairwell was very dark and dreary and we added a knee wall at the top, which made them even darker. I did use double-sided carpet tape where the rise met run of the steps (both on rise and tread) as well as under the bullnose edge...and they have NOT MOVED at all! They have held up incredibly well! Thank you for offering such a fantastic and affordable option! September 3, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hard wood floor warning!! I had these down for two years in my dining room and hallway. They looked very good! However I pulled them up to re-do my hardwood floors and there is adhesive stuck all over the wood. They were EXTREMELY difficult to lift up. I had to pry pull each inch up they were stuck so tight. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Avoid these and get wall to wall! When I first installed this in 2 rooms I was thrilled. It wasn't too difficult and looked great, no seams. Within a few months, I could see a few seams popping up despite it being a very low traffic area. After a year, there were lines all over the place. Every time I walked into the room, I was annoyed. Finally this week, I decided enough was enough and removed it and had wall to wall carpet installed. I basically wasted $1,200 on this junk. July 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Toffee look very good I both both the Toffee color and the Milk and Cookies. The Toffee looks very good but the Milk and Cookies does not. M&C shows every seam while the Toffee does not. July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice I installed in my guestroom today for first time user it went pretty smoothly. The squares lay down and allow you to reposition if you are not happy with the fit. They cut pretty smoothly with a razor.I forgot to include closet when measuring so came up short was so happy with product will order enough to do my office. The cost is hard to beat under $300. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great buy and quick resluts I removed old tack strips on concrete floor. The carpet tiles went down with little fuss. I was worried my very detailed oriented husband would not like the tiles. Even the perfectionist was pleasantly surprised by the end results..This room gets a lot of traffic with the computer and recliner/ tv combo. I needed to replace the old carpet and did not want to spend a lot just to have it ruined again. I would highly recommend this product. September 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install and look great We got these tiles for a basement bedroom that had such a terrible cold floor in the winter. A little expensive but probably still cheaper than professional carpet install, and you can do it yourself even with no experience. My husband laid them himself in only a few hours. Just make sure all the arrows on the backs are going the same direction and that no fibers are trapped between each tile and they will look seamless! Ours look great and feel much nicer than the hard, cold laminate underneath. Fairly easy to cut to size around closet and door openings. I think we will do these for our other bedroom and hallway as well! Really couldn't be happier with them; the room feels transformed. April 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk, shifted/shrunk in a low traffic area leaving huge gaps in the middle of the floor I am honestly not sure what happened. The tiles either shifted or shrunk but I have inch gaps all through a low traffic room. They are not bunch up anywhere so I am inclined to say that they shrunk. Either way avoid like the plague. Have a ton of money sunk into these and not sure that we can even return them as we no longer have the boxes... June 11, 2016
